The best coffee shop hands down and we go to alot of coffee shops. Mason and Kristen were awsome and very helpful. We ordered 2 coffee drinks and a cookie. The fresh quality was outstanding. Mason offered a taste of Gelato fresh made in house… well I had to get a cup of Gelato after the sample. The coffee shop was very relaxed atmosphere with plenty of seating. This is a must stop going thru Independence IA.

We are traveling across country and needed some coffee and WiFi. This was the perfect place. We also ended up having lunch here! They have a cute little room in the back to use for small groups and we were allowed to use it for our online meeting. Em even stopped in and was very attentive to everyone in the place. Super friendly small. town vibe, definitely recommend.

Friendly employees and quick service. Love the decorations. Their bars on the counter and some of their ice cream flavors are gluten free. They also have organic tea. I had the hot apple cider. It has a “news room” with a large table and their many awards and news clippings are displayed. I wish I got to see Em! If you would like to support employees with disabilities stop into Em’s!

I come here with my kids every other week and ABSOLUTELY love it. All you ladies are fabulous. You’re all always smiling, personable, and just all around, inviting. It’s always nice to still see people that work retail, or with the public, that are so positive. With all the negative on TV and everywhere else, it’s just very refreshing. Thank you ladies and we’ll see you in 2 weeks.

This place is awesome. It’s very clean, decor is nice. I was honestly expecting it to be way smaller. The caramel latte I had was the second best I’ve ever drank in my life. The scones are kinda small but delish. The staff are quite friendly. Prices are not higher than you would expect any small coffee shop to be. I will definitely be coming here again if I ever get the chance.

I was back home for a visit and decided to walk downtown Independence one morning. Stopped into Em’s for an Americano. I’ve literally had Americano’s all over the world and the Americano I got at Em’s was fantastic! First rate, top notch, all the accolades! This place is a gem! Also, they have cinnamon rolls as big as your head, LOL. If you’re passing through Independence, stop at this place! You’ll probably literally be driving right by it.
