For context, I worked at restaurants for many years, and even now harvest my own meat from hunting. That said, I used to recommend this place but not after being served rancid meat in the fried rice, and being told it was fresh after bringing it to their attention. A simple refund and an apology would have sufficed but they were rude and refused to offer even a replacement and denied a refund. Food service is competitive and harsh as is. Don’t take it out on your customers.

Heard good reviews from a friend and love Chinese so I stopped to try. Ordered 3 dishes house fried rice was good chicken and broccoli was okay needed more broccoli but i found a part of a stainless steel pad in my house lo mein. When I brought to their attention they said that sometimes they break off the pad but it a was clean ??? They did offer to remake it but by that time I was done with it. No offer of a refund no apology. So we won’t be back

I love this place! I always get the empress chicken sauce on side when ordering take-out. It’s honestly the only place around here that I’ll eat Chinese from. Plus they’re the only ones that serve fried wonton strips! I’m a texture person and having something crispy with my meal is a must! Don’t knock til you try and before going, know what you’re ordering!

This place is only concerned about getting money and not about the customers satisfaction. I ordered a big meal with two different types of beef one was cooked right and the other had a weird look and texture. The beef meal with the weird look and texture came looking grayish like it has gone bad. When I called the manager would not speak to me and told the rep to tell me there’s nothing they can do about it. I will NEVER order from here again! I didn’t get an apology or even a sound of sincerity.

We survived on Empress Express in the 90’s. Good food, reasonable prices, ample portions & delivery kept us coming back. Like most wanting a future, we left Mansfield. We recently were in Mansfield & revisited Empress Express. Twenty years hasn’t been kind to Mansfield or Empress Express.
We paid the $4 premium for more meat & vegetables. Would have been even more unhappy if we hadn’t. I got the house fried rice. Tons of rice, little meat & vegetables. Very little of the peas & carrots that always made me laugh. Dish was not greasy, which is a plus but it was very salty.
The kids working behind the counter all but ignored me as they carried on their conversation. In the old days they were just busy. Pretty disappointing all around. I’ll keep my memories of the old days. They were good.

I gave a 2 star only bc this place used to be good about 7 yrs ago. General Tso chicken tastes extremely watered down . I ordered one night about 930 and asked if it was too late to order. She said no but they weren’t delivering. I said that was fine I would pick up. I got there exactly 20 minutes like she said. As soon as I turned my car off, the staff shut the lights out and we’re closed .Before the stated closing time. Apparently just did not want to take my order .
