Established in 1994, Emperor of India can proudly lay claim to being Malta’s oldest Indian restaurant. In an industry where we’ve seen our neighbours and the surrounding area change year in, year out, having been in operation for over 3 decades is but a testament to our passionate approach to all facets of Indian cuisine, from the smallest, most apparently insignificant ingredient to the most elaborate of traditional meals. Basing our offering on traditional family recipes in the Northern Indian Punjab region, at Emperor of India we have become renowned for the genuine flavours and tastes of the region, by bringing together specially imported (and otherwise unavailable) raw ingredients and the finest of locally sourced fresh produce.

If you’re dining as a group, it’s perfect for ordering different dishes and sharing them with everyone at the table.
Amal, our waiter, was extremely pleasant – funny, attentive, and very helpful, which made the experience even better. If you’re looking for real Indian food in Malta, Emperor of India is definitely a place you must visit.
The food was absolutely delicious — rich flavors, perfectly balanced spices, and beautifully presented. The waiter (Amal) made the evening even better: friendly, amusing, and genuinely welcoming. We felt taken care of from start to finish. The recommendations we received were spot on and helped us enjoy a truly memorable dinner.
I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an authentic and enjoyable Indian dining experience.
We had a good sample using shared platters. I particularly enjoyed the ‘butter chicken’ and ‘Korma’ served with Naan bread, plus crisp veg samosa. The service was a bit slow since the restaurant staff could not keep up with our company numbers, though we had booked in advance.
