We loved our dinner here. The room is brightly lit and warm. The service is top notch… incredibly attentive and knowledgeable. Lots of vegan options. The rib steak fajita is amazing! As is the guacamole with the salsa flight!!! Everything was delicious. Looking forward to going back for sure!

Empellón was fantastic, and I would absolutely come back. We came in for an early dinner on a Friday and had a truly wonderful meal from start to finish.

We started with the guacamole with 7 salsas, which came highly recommended — and it absolutely lived up to the hype. This is a must-order. The guacamole itself is incredibly fresh and well seasoned, and the range of salsas — from the mid-level spice like the salsa verde all the way to the spiciest options — are all worth trying. Best part? There’s plenty left over to use throughout the rest of the meal.

We then shared the fish tempura tacos and the rib steak fajita, and while the tacos were good, they were completely overshadowed by the fajitas. The fajita plate was outstanding — 20 ounces of perfectly tender steak, fresh warm corn tortillas, and a deeply flavorful bone marrow that tied everything together beautifully.

We finished with the very popular avocado dessert, which was the perfect way to end the meal. It wasn’t heavy or overly sweet and came with these wonderful petit fours filled with ice cream that tasted like a key lime crust — such a thoughtful, refreshing finale.

Shoutout to our waiter, who made the experience even better — fun, kind, attentive, and genuinely made us feel taken care of.

Overall, an excellent meal with bold flavors, thoughtful execution, and great service. I’d absolutely come back to explore more of their modern menu.

Came by Empellón on Madison for a quick bite after a successful interview nearby and was already in great spirits, but the service from David V. truly elevated the moment. He was vibrant yet warm, made thoughtful recommendations, and even remembered a small detail I shared about coming from a meeting. At the end of the meal, he surprised me with a little treat to celebrate, which felt so kind and intentional. Moments later, I was offered the job, and it honestly felt like his thoughtfulness helped complete what became such a special day. Service like that really stays with you. Thank you, David V., for making an already great day even better.

A great space with a very buzzy atmosphere, this is a great after-work spot. They serve up great margaritas with a few creative takes – their saffron margarita was definitely a new one for me. And the chips with guacamole and seven salsas are awesome – I’d come just for a couple of drinks and an order of those! I also had a couple of their elevated tacos – the pastrami and the fish tempura. The pastrami was nice, but I felt it could’ve been a bit more tender. But the fish tempura was outstanding with a great crunch and nice flavors. All in all a great spot that I’ll come back to.

We had lunch and everything was really outstanding. The guacamole was exceptional and it was fun trying all of the accompanying salsas. We really loved the carrot appetizer. Tacos are also a standout, with corn tortillas that are fresh and flavorful. I would love to go back. One nice touch we noticed is that cold dishes were served on chilled plates which made the food extra refreshing.

The staff were excellent and the food was great. I loved that you get 7 different salsas to try!! My favorite was the cashew and the tomatillo. My friend and I shared the rib eye fajitas with bone marrow. Was so good and perfect to share.

I don’t even know where to start. The ambience delight and the music is phenomenal. The service is top notch, one of the best in the city. Before you even think about it, the service staff already knows that you need something. The servers and waiters are extremely attentive and polite. The food every entry of the menu was better than the next we received. When we thought we couldn’t be wild with more, we received a complementary dessert which was out of this world. We will for sure be coming back. Thank you to the team and the chef for such an amazing Experience.

Living on the West Coast, I had been wanting to come here for a while and finally had the chance. I visited as a solo diner on a Saturday night. The food was solid. Their corn tortillas are very high quality and they have a variety of tacos to choose from. The cheeseburger tacos v2 were my favorite, it was just simple but done right. Their grilled shrimp tacos were also really good. Their avocado dessert was a highlight, I haven’t had anything like that so it was memorable for sure.

The staff overall was great, but my server, David, was very attentive and kind and made the meal one I will never forget. Hopefully I get the chance to come back again! Would recommend for an “upscale” taco experience that doesn’t feel stuffy or out of touch.

The elevated Mexican food was very good. Surprisingly the pasta (cappelletti) was my favorite, but the rich salsas and the pastrami in the tacos were also good. The pastrami tacos are large and filling. The carrot salad, while tasty, wasn’t really a salad, just carrots on coconut cream.

The service was very attentive. While there is plenty of space between tables, the place is very loud and didn’t feel intimate.

Wow! Writing this as I sit in the restaurant because I’m so impressed. Isabella was the absolute best tonight! Just came in for drinks and some apps after work and ended up staying multiple hours because of how great the service was. Please do yourself a favor and come to empellón!
