The place is beautifully decorated and the staff was always willing to help. The food was delicious with accessible prices.

We came to Kansas City for a family emergency, and since I’m from Venezuela and my husband is American and likes the Venezuelan food I’ve cooked for him and that we’ve eaten in restaurants in other states, we decided to look for a Venezuelan place to try. At this place, we ordered two cachapas with cheese and meat + chicken on the side. The meat is grilled, and the chicken was also supposed to be grilled chicken, but the chicken came shredded like the chicken used to make empanadas , so that was weird…

The cachapa was good, the meat was average (we would have liked a better type of meat and not so much fat), and we also ordered a soup that was good.

Areas for improvement: customer service (since there was no one in the store when we arrived and we called three times).

On the other hand, my husband and I were sitting waiting for our food and started checking the reviews and almost ran out because most of them are negative, so if anyone reads these reviews before making a decision, they will probably decide not to go to the restaurant.

We spent: $58 in total (a little much for 2 cachapas and a soup)

I hope they can improve the quality of the service, the food, etc.

Amazing chicken empanadas, okay beef empanadas, and absolute garbage customer service. I swore that I would never go to the SW Blvd location again after repeated terrible customer service but I happen to be at Crown Center and wanted to grab something to eat so I stopped in and ordered a combo plate. I initially read the options wrong and ordered the three different kinds of empanadas and instead of correcting me, the guy behind the counter, just stared at me. I quickly realized the combo only came with two so I ordered the chicken and beef that came with rice and beans. He didn’t say anything, he just turned and walked away. After a few minutes he brought out two greasy empanadas in a paper bag then dumped them in a to go container added an incredibly small amount of rice and beans. I had to ask for sauce since it wasn’t offered and that seemed to be a bit of an inconvenience when I asked about heat levels. Overall, the food was OK, but his attitude was incredibly rude. So, if your establishment boldly has a tip option on the payment touchscreen, there should be decent customer service and maybe even a thank you for the order!

To add: Shortly after I finished eating in the food court I walked by and noticed two families were standing in the restaurant, looking for someone that was working there, and the guy seem to be nowhere to be found so they walked out. As a tourist destination, you would think the customer service would at least be decent and your counter would be staffed. So to the manager: your incredibly rude and unprofessional employee is losing you money. Best of luck at that location – you need it!

The line wasn’t long but the wait for the food was. Fries and chicken nuggets came out Luke warm. You expect deep fried food to be hot nope. I bought a madness hotdog was so cold and the toppings I hated. Not to mention no carrots. I also bought a create your own bowl. I waited for something I could of made before I sat down. I don’t recommend

Food is great, acquiring it is where the problems start. No one is ever at the counter to take orders. Today I called out 3 times, getting progressively louder each time with no response. Had to go elsewhere. In previous visits it seems they didn’t complete their opening check list as their soda fountain was turned off still in the middle of the day. There just appears to be no interest in providing good or any service. Which is a shame because the food, especially the empanadas are fantastic. I don’t see this lasting long unfortunately.

The empanadas have very good seasoning! I recommend them although personally I like them crunchier! What I didn’t like is that personally I felt a little disorganization among the employees, and I ordered 4 empanadas, 2 chicken empanadas, 2 meat empanadas to take away and they sold me the 4 chicken empanadas (I think it’s part of the same disorganization that I felt). and I realized 3 hours later when I had already arrived from KC to Salina

This place is scrape-your-plate-delicious!!! I walked-in thinking I’m not terribly hungry, I’ll just get a little bite, I took my first bite of the white rice and realized I may not have ordered enough! By the end of my plate I was stuffed but would have kept going, it, was so good!

Along with the amazing food, the staff was happy to explain everything and answer any questions. Just a FANTASTIC experience!!!

What a great little gem of a restaurant. Offers the tastes of South America. Sampled multiple entrees and all were very well done and had excellent flavors. Nothing too spicy for those that might shy away but they do offer three types of sauces mild, medium, and spicy to accompany your fish. Food costs are medium. Dessert was good and topped off the lunch. Highly recommend.

It’s really expensive for what you get, the size of the bowl is like to scoops of nothing… I was really hopping for something goooood, hot dog was mid.
