Empanada Gourmet offers a wide variety of Uruguayan baked goods: empanadas (beef, chicken, rice and beans, breakfast etc.), masitas (petit fours), alfajores (cookies sandwiched with dulce de leche, chocolate, or fruit paste), bizcochos (flaky pastries), pasta frolla, fruit tarts, vegetable pies, and much more. Uruguayan cuisine is a combination of cuisines from several countries including France, Spain, Italy, Germany, and Portugal. Our family descended from immigrants from these countries who colonized Uruguay and brought their own recipes. We recreate these treasured recipes so our customers can experience a part of Uruguayan culture.

Came here for something to eat after being at the NoKings protest. My friend who is from Lancaster knew of this place and liked it. Small joint with limited inside seating. Got busy when we were leaving and filled up pretty quickly. It looked like they had cute outdoor seating, but we didn’t get a good look as it started to rain. Freshly made empanadas. I had the beef and cheese, which was good, but I also got the Uruguaya, which was out of this world delish! I wanted more! We later got & split the desert empanadas; nutella, ducle de leche, and quince. They were ok. The seasoning on Quince was good, but the dough for the deserts wasn’t that good. But if they ever were to open a restaurant in West Chester, PA I would be a regular getting the Uruguaya!

Clean facility with plenty of seats and a sanitary bathroom. Spinach is a bit salty. Rice and bean was spicy. Uruguayan is a mild spicy mix of flavors. Caprese is tasty and delicious. Empanadas are heated and 2 make a full meal. Limited selection of drinks. We bought 4 Empanadas and 2 drinks for about $26.

The ladies were absolutely fantastic and friendly and so helpful, even with silly questions from newbies will return
We tried a variety of Uruguayan, Ham and cheese and their Kale. Hubby raved about the green sauce and even tried the spicier red. The Empanadas are Stuffed to the corners and definitely worth the price!!!
That’s ladies for an amazing experience and we’ll return. 5 stars!!!!!

The empanadas were absolutely incredible, but the best part of the experience was the people! We had such a lovely time eating outside in the beautiful back patio. We tried the chicken, ham & cheese, beef, and beef & cheese and every single one was delicious. The chimichurri sauce was also exceptionally delicious!! We will definitely be back!!

Just ate 4 empanadas and I feel like I should eat a whole lot more definitely coming back to try the other ones, I had beef and cheese/ argentina steak, totally recommend those to the beer drinkers . Met the owner, she was really nice and friendly, and she cooks all of that herself

Such a great place. Clean and staff is very nice. Some tables inside and a patio outside that is too cute. Lots of options including vegan choices and they are all baked and made fresh. I had the Uruguayan with beef cheese and olives and the 3 cheese was so good. The dulce de Leche for dessert was perfectly sweet.

Delightful cafe which sells mainly empanadas. They are a bit small so you will likely want more than one. They have a wide selection of flavors, make them in-house, and serve with a dipping sauce. They have nice indoor and outdoor seating areas.

What a treat! Authentic baked Uruguayan Empanadas! Finally something different than the typical Caribbean (Puerto Rican and Dominican) or Mexican food! We are blessed to have this Uruguayan family investing so heavily in Lancaster. These empanadas are on another level and worth every penny. You cannot and willnot be able to replicate these at home. If you know emapandas, you know these emapandas have DECADES of precision tweaking to ensure the best dough and flavor. And the diversity of fillings are unmatched in Lancaster and probably anywhere in Central PA! Take advantage of these well priced delicacies. In a short span of two years they have opened 3 locations. That tells you everything you need to know! Delicious, homecooked and healtier baked empanadas for very affordable price.
