My first meal after arriving in Panama. I know nothing about cuisine here so I decided on sancocho and fried fish with a Pina colada. Everything was extremely declious! Service was great and the bar itself is gorgeous. Service was great. Prices were similar to the US. Highly recommend, especially if you’re staying in the Hilton Panama.

I cannot say enough about how BEAUTIFUL this restaurant is. We were unable to catch a show, but the interior itself was captivating! Plush with deep colored fabrics, soft florals, vibrant multicolored lighting, and aquatic visuals please the eye all around you. Let’s not forget the illuminated menu! The food presentation was awesome, and the sushi delicious! Next time I’ll be sure to book the show.

Avoid Emotions Restaurant at the Hilton Panama
I never leave bad reviews, but this one needs to be said. I live in Panama — I’m not a tourist — and what happened here was disgusting.
We stopped in for a quick nightcap. I ordered a Cuba Libre: $7. My two friends each ordered a margarita. The bill comes — $18 **each**. For a margarita. In Panama.
The receipt says *Don Julio*. First of all, who drowns Don Julio in sugar? Second, Don Julio is not a top-shelf tequila worth that markup. And no one told us we were being served (or charged for) a “premium” tequila.
It’s a scam, plain and simple. Overpriced, non-transparent, and clearly banking on tourists who don’t know better. But I do.
Don’t waste your time or money — there are far better places in Panama that actually respect their guests.

For the tourists: sites like TripAdvisor and others will charge you more than what you need to spend at this location. The establishment requires you to spend $50 or more to watch the show. You do not need to book online. I did it at the location.
Entertainment: The shows are awesome! The catch is that once they start, they play for 20 minutes and have a pause of 40 minutes before the next show starts. Is a way to increase clientele over the night. A business is a business. I did like the shows and have zero complaints.
Food: The food was a 3 out of 5. The steak I asked for was a medium, and I got a medium-well to a well-done piece. The sushi was as expected for a non-Japanese restaurant.
Overall, I’ll give it a 4.3.

Visiting Panama for my husband’s birthday, we bought show tickets for $75 each and paid for dinner separately. Before our reservation, I messaged the restaurant on WhatsApp to request a birthday dessert. They were responsive, sent the dessert menu, and I confirmed my selection.
When we arrived and were seated, the emcee asked if anyone was celebrating a birthday. I raised my hand and pointed to my husband. She responded, “You were late, so…” We were confused because our reservation was for 8:30 PM and we arrived before 8:45 PM.
Throughout the evening, the emcee sang, danced, and celebrated other guests’ birthdays—but not my husband’s. I then asked our waiter for the birthday dessert. When it arrived, there was no candle. I tried to quietly clarify with the waiter, but he began explaining the “birthday surprise” in a way that involved my husband directly, which would have spoiled it, so I stopped him.
At that point, my husband was confused and we considered leaving, but the waiter insisted we stay because they would acknowledge his birthday during the show. We stayed for the last 20 minutes, hoping they would correct the oversight, but again they celebrated other birthday guests and never acknowledged my husband.
Afterward, I reached out again via WhatsApp to share my disappointment, but they were unresponsive. On top of everything, the food wasn’t great and took a long time to come out. Overall, this was a careless and disappointing way to handle a special occasion.

Absolutely terrible customer service. I bought a reservation for two people to use as a gift for a friend. If they offered gift cards, I would have done that. But they don’t. So instead I picked a date, bought the tickets, and then was told less than an hour later by my friend that those dates wouldn’t work. I asked her what dates would work. She didn’t know. She’s a local though and had heard from other locals that their place is known for scamming and ripping off tourists. So she wasn’t sure if she wanted to go. She said to get a refund and in the meantime she would try to go to the theater to speak with the manager and see if it seemed trustworthy. If so, she said she would choose a date. I contacted their team to ask for the refund. They told me “sorry but our policy is no refunds”. I told them I understood that if I were cancelling the day before a show, but I was cancelling 3 weeks before the show and only an hour after buying the tickets. It took them 3 days before they finally responded with “no refund.” Extremely disappointed. Every great product, company, experience, that believes in what they are selling offers refunds, warranties, etc. Only shady companies that feel like they have to scam people refuse to give refunds. What a terrible business this is. It looks like my friend was right. Scammers just trying to take advantage of tourists. Trust the locals. They always know best. Avoid this place and their terrible customer service.
