This place was awesome. Chicken fried steak was the best I’ve had in a long time. It was steak end to end unlike other places that have breading hanging off that makes it look big. Mashed potatoes were excellent with great flavor and the Mac and cheese was tasty as well. My mom had the chicken fried chicken and she said it was excellent as well. Well worth the visit. You won’t be disappointed.

Delicious food served in a lovely restaurant on Main Street. The chicken fried chicken was incredible, fork tender, lightly breaded and well seasoned, served with mashed red potatoes and garlic green beans. Our other order was a chorizo, jalapeño and cheese omelet with home style potatoes that were well seasoned and a side of whole wheat toast. We could not have asked for better service. It was such a treat.

I’m not sure what I was expecting when we came here. In my mind it was going to be a country kitchen with home cooking.

Boy was I ever wrong, haha. We live very local to this location and had been out all day in the DFW area at a pumpkin chunkin event in Lewisville that kept us from having lunch. Needless to say we were hungry and debating where it was that we would be eating at upon getting back home. We’d also need to get it to-go because our dog would most assuredly be pissed at our lengthy absence. Sushi was the first option but then we changed our minds as we had it recently.

Let’s try Emily’s Kitchen. Check and see what their Gluten Free options are like I told my wife as she suffers from Celiac. She read off some menu options and it became our destination.

We parked out back due to construction on Main St. and entered via the connecting breezeway. I was pleasantly surprised upon entering. The decor is tastefully done and not over the top but that subtle elegance that would make the setting great for both family outings or a date with your other half. There is a bar area at the back which is where we were advised to place our To-Go order. This was manned by Jesus who took our order and was knowledgeable about our Gluten Free needs. While waiting for our order we decided on a couple of drinks. I had the Railcar fig infused Manhattan and my wife the Espresso Martini. Both were Delish. Our orders consisted of the Pork Tenderloin for myself and Shrimp and grits for my wife. We also order a to share Rosa’s Flourless Chocolate cake with this really delish scoop of vanilla ice cream. It’s not often you find Gluten Free dessert options on a menu. That was pretty good and packed well for our trip home.

We received our order and hurriedly went home to chow down. It was all good. Had a bite of the wife’s grits.. nice and creamy and cheesy.. spot on. Can’t wait to try more items.

There are more then a few places now in Old Town Denison that I would consider gems and Emily’s Kitchen is one of them. Service, Atmosphere and food are all top notch. Glad we live close by.

Highly recommend!

A Great Experience from Start to Finish!

We had reservations for 7:00 PM and arrived a few minutes early. The hostess seated us right away — a great start to the evening. The restaurant had a comfortable, modern atmosphere with a good crowd but wasn’t overly packed for a Saturday night.

For drinks, I ordered a Miller Lite and a glass of Merlot, while our friends started with a Long Island Tea and eventually switched to Crown and Coke after finding out they were out of Corona, Modelo, and Red Bull. Not a dealbreaker — just one of those small-town quirks that adds character.

We started with the Queso Quemado appetizer, baked with Oaxaca cheese, fontina, and chorizo. It wasn’t your typical queso dip — more of a hearty, flavorful baked cheese blend that was absolutely delicious with the seasoned tortilla chips.

For entrées, both ladies ordered the Roasted Airline Chicken, which came plated beautifully with creamy risotto, roasted carrots, and a lemon-butter sauce. They both said it was excellent — tender, flavorful, and perfectly portioned. (And yes, I did ask our waitress which airline it came from… she laughed and said, “United.” Sounds like she’s heard that one before!)

I had the Roast Beef Brioche Dip, which was impressive. The roast beef was a little on the fatty side, but still rich and flavorful. The horseradish aioli had just the right amount of kick, and the sweet potato fries were perfectly crisp and salted. My friend ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans — a classic done right. Everything was cooked well and full of flavor.

Our server, Mandy, was friendly, attentive, and had a good sense of humor — which really added to the experience.

Overall, Emily’s Kitchen delivered a great meal with thoughtful presentation, warm service, and a comfortable atmosphere. Definitely worth the visit if you’re in Denison and looking for a quality dinner spot with personality and heart.

Was passing through town and stopped by for a light lunch. Had the chicken soup and Caesar salad. The soup was tasty but had a bit too much rice in it for my taste but still very good. The Serrano Caesar salad was fantastic! I liked the different take on a traditional Caesar.

Stopped for dinner while we were in Denison for a show. The food was great as was the service Levi gave. Great menu with enough to choose from without being too much. Had tacos and the redfish for dinner, calamari for our appetizer with the espresso crème brûlée.

The entire Main Street is really nice we will definitely come back to Emily’s Kitchen.

This was a great experience! We traveled in to the area for the weekend and would travel here just for breakfast. I eat at allot of places and try allot of things…. rare is the meal I would travel for but this experience was the exception. We had drinks and food and everything was great! Especially the avocado eggs Benedict.
