Was just passing thru.. so it’s not like I’ll probably ever be going again.. but we enjoyed our food and visit.. everyone was friendly. We had the cheeseburgers on jalapeño sour dough. One with fries.
The menu board behind the counter is hard to read for us older ones.. they have another handheld menu but there is no pricing on it. We also got a sm chili to go and a chocolate shake. We have not tried the chili yet.. it was a fun place to see.

Every town needs a place like THIS!!!! Such a great environment with history and so many meal options! Do not let the exterior of this place fool you… It is MUCH bigger inside for that large group setting!! Our crew had the patty melt, frito pie burger & regular cheese burger (on sourdough). All of them were huge portions. Onion rings & fries were ! The best part of the entire lunch was learning the history of Emil’s & “Fritz” along with the creamsicle shake!!! We will definitely be back (more than I will even want to admit )!

This place is in my opinion a hidden gem! The first time we went there I actually cried when I tasted the burger cause I knew it was a burger my dad would have loved but he had passed away a couple years prior. My son and I just happened to find this place when we were headed back to Houston from Corpus Christi. We like to find mom and pop type places to eat at when we travel. We’ve now made this a halfway point to meet my daughter from time to time. The place is charming, staff is amazing and the food is delicious!!!! We keep bringing new people there to try it even though it takes an hour and a half for us to get there….

5/5, 11/10, The gold standard for burgers. The sides are awesome too. I work on the road and eat all over south Texas, and this is, THE BEST Burger place I’ve ever eaten at. I will be stopping every time I go through El Campo in the future.

This place was amazing food was great and plentiful, came out hot and seasoned. The staff was amazing. They had boudin egg rolls which I didn’t expect so of course I had to try them and they were amazing. So if you’re ever in the Area try them out. The burger I got was Emil’s Burger and it was also great. Is a small place but worth the right squeeze.

I’ve been here twice for lunch. The service is Texas friendly and fairly quick for custom orders. The decor is Texas home. The food is Texas good. This time I enjoyed my Texas Burger. My husband had the Reuben and loved it. We brought our adult sons who had the patty melt and the regular hamburger and were well pleased. The ambiance music is cheerful country with a smattering of contemporary western, which kept us entertained with conversation about music, artists, and country music culture. We had a pleasant lunch.

This is a legit hamburger stop it’s been here since the 30s and there’s a reason that survive this long. There has to be at least 30 different kinds of hamburgers you can order all of which are extremely good.
