Located in a quaint little neighborhood, the owner Emi is such a cute lady. We didn’t reserve the longevity meals in time but the lunchtime Omakase was hearty and delicious. Emi really took pride in her food and work, and we’re glad to have paid this shop a visit.

I came to ogimi knowing I had to go here. I love what they eat here, it makes me so happy and I am so lucky to have been able to eat here. Every single bite I felt the flavor and loving ingredients. I want to eat this every day of my life. The owner is so nice and she puts a lot of effort into her food.

We came 10mins after they opened and luckily they had a table free, would highly recommend booking in advance though as all the tables around us had reservation signs.
The set menu and desserts were utterly delightful.

It’s been about a week since I visited and I miss this place so much! This was the best thing I ate in Okinawa and my life. I really enjoyed this meal so much… as someone who has been struggling with health this year, this meal was such a good reset to my digestive system and I understand why the seniors of Ogimi village are able to still be so strong and healthy!

Much thanks to the friendly staff at Emi no Mise, my partner and I drove from Nago and did not know that we needed to make reservation but they kindly slotted us in for the 1pm slot. (Do note this was probably possible as it was a Friday and we were just lucky!)

Will definitely wish to come back here the next time I travel to Okinawa. It was such a fantastic and heartwarming meal.

Such an amazing experience in Ogimi, Okinawa! We came across this restaurant through the documentary on the blue zone and she did not disappoint! Amazing healthy food, with each portion explained with the health benefits in a hand out provided. We were seated and served efficiently and loved the vibe, serenity and seeing the garden which it is grown in. Book in advance as she gets busy! Highly recommend!

Amazing experience! Got to meet Emi and she was super friendly and accommodating! She also signed her nutrition book that we purchased. Make sure you get a reservation.

A real local gem. They grow all of their vegetables themselves and it’s excellent and really healthy food. Lovely setting and everything is really well explained too – it’s great that their approach is so educational and how long this place has been running.

Lovely food too, truly unique and you’ll learn a lot about Okinawa food culture.

They’re really friendly – overall a great experience, wish there were more places like this!

This is our number one hidden gem that we’ve come across. Called them in the morning and made reservations in advance. The food tasted healthy and yummy, and the variety in their set meal was very appealing to the eyes. We were pleasantly surprised by the warm shikuwasa sticky rice cake that we ordered in addition to the set meal, it was a vitamin C boost! We had a great time in the quiet and peaceful restaurant, it was a retreat for the soul.

I was intrigued about Ogimi village as a place with many supercenturians after reading about it in Ikigai book. They talked about how people grow their own vegetables and lived a healthy and active lifestyle. On average, they eat 18 different types of foods each day, mostly from their garden. It made me reflect on my diet on a whole.
