Visiting Seattle from Southern California, so im a huge fan of fish and chips. This place……WOOOOOOOOO…. freaking good. Food was nice and hot. I got me the COD and Salmon and man did I destroy it. Sauce is great as well. The only problem i had was I didn’t try everything else. I should’ve ordered the sampler next time I will when I visit seattle again. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND GOING HERE!!

Stopped in one Saturday evening while on Rainier to check this place out, heard it was a great spot for fried seafood. Well..I can certainly confirm that! We got the Sampler Platter, which included fried salmon, cod, halibut, catfish, crab puppies, clam strips AND calamari rings. Lots of food, all the fish was fried perfectly and I absolutely loved the calamari rings, the best fried squid I’ve ever tasted! We also ordered a crab puppies meal, which we overwhelmingly recommend. Fried crab with peppers…yes please! This place serves ALOT of food for reasonable prices, highly recommended if you’re ever in the mood for a seafood restaurant in the Rainier Valley.

We got the cod and halibut and they were delicious! Nice and crispy and the coating wasn’t too thick. Fries were also seasoned really well. Coleslaw was good too. The staff was really friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back.

First timer tip: Order extra tartar sauce. You may think, “Eh, it’s just tartar sauce.” Every time I take someone here and they try the tartar sauce, their eyes pop and they smile.
My favorite meal is the cod burger (comes with French fries), a large container of Cole slaw, and tartar sauce. The cook on everything is perfect. Everything feels light and fresh.
To top it off, everyone we’ve interacted with has been kind and friendly. Definitely run out and visit Emerald City Fish and Chips. Your belly and soul will thank you.

I’ve been waiting to try Emerald City Fish and Chips for so long and finally made it over last week. I ordered the halibut fish and chips, my husband had the Alaskan cod, and we ordered the crab puppies. Everything was incredible, best halibut fish and chips I’ve had in Washington and the crab puppies were so moist and flavorful. I loved the variety of sauces that come with the meal, they were all unique and delicious. Steve, the owner, is super kind and made us feel welcomed right when we walked in. I got a very inclusive neighborhood vibe, like someone might invite you to sit with them if you’re dining on your own. I also loved the no frills feel of the inside. It’s a place that speaks for itself, they do fish and chips and they do them well. Make it a point to swing through and check them out if you haven’t yet.

This place is the BEST for fish and chips!!! I have never been disappointed with the food or the service!! They are kind and have high quality food! I recommend it to anyone going to Seattle and of course I HAVE TO stop by any time I am in the area. I will go clear out of my way to head down Rainier Ave S.

I’ve been craving catfish for a while and Emerald City Fish & Chips is within walking distance of my airbnb. I am so happy I stopped by because this place is the bomb. I should have asked for his name, but the gentleman behind the counter was very friendly and cooked some of the best catfish I’ve had in a long time. I also enjoyed the crab puppies, and although I am not big on cole slaw, it was delicious. The location is very nice with outdoor seating and umbrellas. I decided to sit out there and wait for my to-go order. He brought it out to me and it was hot and smelled so good. Be sure to ask about the sampler specials. You get a lot for what you pay for, everything is seasoned well, I highly recommend.

Awesome food in a cozy little space. It’s pretty much all variations on fish and chips, but they’re all done well. The winner for me is the halibut: super juicy and flavorful. The crab puppies are also a unique standout. But honestly, just get the sampler platter and split it with a friend to try everything.
There are only maybe 8 seats inside and a few more outside, so be prepared to wait a few minutes for a seat or take it to-go.
Super affordable, too!

I’ve been here twice now with a friend and we loved it. We agreed this is going to be a regular spot for us. Very friendly owner and staff. My favorite item on the menu so far is the salmon chowder. It’s the most flavorful and so delicious! I have also tried the cod fish and chips, the cod burger, Cole slaw, and the sweet potato pie.
I loved how tasty and well made the French fries were. The fish was fresh and crispy, although I personally wish there would have been a little more seasoning/added flavor in the batter or on the fish. The sauces paired really nicely with all the food and definitely gave the fish all the flavor it needed if you need that too! The Cole slaw was the freshest I’ve had and wasn’t too sweet or too heavy on the mayo. Lastly, their sweet tea is always perfect!
Their parking is off to the side of the restaurant and is on the tighter side, but still doable. There was also accessible parking for anyone in need of it.

My new favorite fish and chips please! People were nice, food was insanely good and the value next to none! My wife and I enjoyed this tremendously. My wife is gluten-free and she was so excited that she was going to be able to try fish and chips again for the first time in a long time and she absolutely loved it! The sampler platter is a steal! The hush puppies all I got to say is OMG!
