First, almost every staff member we interacted with wished us a happy anniversary and it was a very kind touch that I haven’t found yet at other Columbia area restaurants. Ember was even so kind as to give us a free dessert for our anniversary and we split a very delicious cheesecake! Our waitress was very knowledgeable and friendly and even apologized about the timing of our food as there was a large party dining at the same time, however she apologized for nothing as our food came out in reasonable time.
The food was great! My steak was cooked perfectly for medium rare, I had a good she-crab soup, and we received a free basket of fries for the table which were salted nicely and came with a delicious curry dip. My fiancé enjoyed his steak as well and he had the wedge salad. The salad was fresh, crisp, and came with a lot of blue cheese crumbs on top which we enjoyed.
The music wasn’t too loud and the space wasn’t loud either. It wasn’t very busy when we went, only a few other tables were occupied, so it was a comfortable noise level.
We will definitely be back whether just for dinner or another special occasion! Highly recommend!
We knew immediately when our waitress informed us they don’t serve bread BUT serve fry baskets!!! Let me tell you. The fries were delicious served with a truffle cream sauce and curry ketchup.
We ordered raw oysters and they were as fresh as can be.
The Chilean Sea bass was probably the best fish entree we ever had! It was well seasoned and cooked perfectly!
The salmon was cooked just as well as the bass but the bass was better. My picky daughter are the meatballs and Mac and cheese and yet still good!
I ate the 14 oz American Wagyu rib eye. Oh my was this DELICIOUS and cooked to perfection!!!!! It was seasoned well and the medium rare was great!
The drinks were maybe the worst part but still made well. The do have an amazing selection of Bourbon and whiskey.
Highly recommend Ember but be ready to spend some $$$ as sides are a la carte.
Buon Appetit!!
As for the price, it’s firmly in high-end territory, with entrees like the hand-cut steaks and seafood towers easily pushing the bill toward the upper range for a special occasion meal. That said, the value shines through in the attention to detail and premium ingredients; it’s the kind of investment that feels justified when every element exceeds expectations, making it ideal for those seeking something beyond the everyday.
The quality of the cuisine is exceptional, showcasing a menu that’s thoughtfully curated around freshness and flavor. From the expertly aged steaks seared to perfection on that ember grill—tender, juicy, and bursting with rich, charred notes—to the sustainably sourced seafood like seared scallops and lobster tail, every dish arrives as a work of art. Sides and starters, such as house-made pastas or creamy burrata, complement the mains seamlessly, while the creative cocktails and extensive wine list elevate the entire affair with balanced, inventive pairings.
What truly sets Ember apart, however, is the high quality of the staff—from the knowledgeable bartenders crafting flawless drinks to the servers who anticipate your every need with genuine warmth and expertise. Their seamless attentiveness turns a meal into a personalized event, ensuring you leave feeling not just satisfied, but truly pampered.
Overall, Ember is a gem that’s quickly becoming a must-visit in Lexington. If you’re craving elevated steakhouse fare in a welcoming atmosphere, this is your spot—five stars without hesitation.
For dessert I had the crème brûlée. It was devine.
The house was popping. Every table was occupied but surprisingly not noisy. Superb acoustics. A beautiful old building with exposed brick, nice lighting, pretty colors in decor and comfy chairs. I could go on. It was by far one is the most enjoyable dining experiences I have ever had.
A sweet town with a gem of a place. Thank you!!
This is by far my favorite restaurant! My husband & I went back to celebrate Christmas Eve together & once again we were blown away by the atmosphere, the food & the service. Our girl Corinn was not working but we had excellent service from a young man named Jake. He exchanged small talk with us, knew the menu well & was so attentive during our visit. My husband loves the selection of high end bourbons. He says this is a great place if you like top shelf cocktails. We shared the kale salad & the ricotta ravioli & I pretty much died & went to heaven. Im italian & that ravioli was one of the best dishes ive ever eaten! Fresh pasta, whipped/light ricotta, & the sauce!! It was unreal. For our dishes we had the short rib & one of the specials, which was a blackened seabass with a lobster cream sauce. Both of them were out of this world! I cant wait to go back already!
So easy to give this place 5 stars on everything! My husband and I went here to celebrate my 40th Birthday & from the moment we entered I was in love! The atmosphere is gorgeous! We were seated right away & greeted by our server Corinn. She was absolutely amazing. Friendly, timely & very attentive. The drinks & food were top tier! We loved the French fry starter as opposed to getting a bread basket. We also ordered the lobster sliders & the Caesar salad which were both super fresh & delicious. My husband had the ribeye & I ordered a filet mignon. Both were cooked& seasoned to perfection! We also loved the roasted garlic added to our steak entrees. For our sides we chose the asparagus & Mac & cheese & we were extremely happy with both! The Mac & cheese was super creamy! They also gave us a complimentary dessert for my birthday which I thought was so thoughtful. We shared the Smores ice cream & omg it was so good! We met the owner Ryan as he walked around & checked on his patrons. He was very friendly & genuine. We can’t wait to be regulars here & will be asking for Corinn again!
What truly made the evening exceptional, though, was the service. Every staff member who attended to us was friendly, attentive, and professional, ensuring our group had a smooth and enjoyable experience from start to finish.
We’d also like to give a special shout-out to our server, Jake, who went above and beyond all night. His attention, energy, and genuine care made our team dinner feel truly special. Thank you, Jake, and a huge thank you to the entire Ember Steakhouse team for a fantastic evening!
