What a charming place! I was drawn in by the cozy atmosphere and live music. I read some or the reviews before deciding to stay (as I typically do). The service was very good. I thought food was great too. I had the 8oz sirloin which had a great flavor; added the Brussel sprouts which had good mixture of tastes (bacon, almond, cranberry and balsamic). My dad had the chilli cheeseburger with a salad- he didn’t care much for the chilli on the burger and the burger was overcooked (not medium rare as ordered). My mom had the cheeseburger + salad – she ordered it medium rare and it was more like medium well, which was a disappointment. But since she ate her salad first, by the time she checked the burger, the server had already been by to ask how our food was, so she figured it was too late to ask then to recook the burger to medium rare. Great views and the live music was awesome too!

I’d recommend this spot !

I had the great pleasure of staying at Redcliffs Lodge for a couple days and was able to dine at the Cowboy Grill for a couple of meals. I will say the hotel breakfast not sure if it’s connected to the restaurant, was really good. Every day they served fresh and varied pastries. The scones, muffins, cinnamon buns were delicious and a great was to start the day. There were also plenty of breakfast food options and served all you can eat buffet style.

Lunch: I ate lunch twice here. The first time I had the fish tacos, The plate comes with two hardy sized tacos. The fish is well prepared; with the appearance of a golden breaded crust.

Another lunch, I had the RCL burger and boy did that not disappoint!!! It was such a flavorful burger. It was also huge, and I had plenty of leftovers.

Dinner: Filet mignon and I ordered broccoli and mashed potatoes to go with the steak. The steak was phenomenal

I don’t like leaving negative reviews for places because I know people usually don’t have bad intentions. But this experience was so unpleasant I think it’s time to pull out the lonely one star review. And I shall pre-warn you, this is somewhat of a rant (we were very upset and left feeling powerless).
The restaurant space, location, decor, and menu are fantastic. We were excited to eat here after a long day trudging about in the stunning scenery.
The service was slow but friendly. My husband and I ordered drinks: the Smoked Tequila Paloma and a Mountain Berry Gin drink. They took a long time to come and we could see them sitting at the bar for several minutes before they were picked up. Unsurprisingly, the tiny ice cubes had melted quite a bit and both drinks were watery. I took mine back to the bar and the bartender remade it for me without ice this time; it was delicious. My husband decided to just drink his rather than say anything.
We ordered Mac & cheese and the fig/mascarpone phyllo puffs for our appetizers. The Mac and cheese sauce was split – the cheese had separated and it was oily and gritty. And liquid, literally the consistency of water. Bleh. We again didn’t say anything.
My brother-in-law and I both ordered the cheeseburger and my husband ordered the NY strip steak with mashed potatoes and spinach. The fries were all barely warm and tasted like they’d been sitting. The cheeseburgers had no cheese. My husband’s mashed potatoes were cold and the steak was very low quality (okay if it’s $30, bad if it’s $60).
I sent back my cheeseburger. My husband ate half the steak and nothing else, determined not to complain, before giving up and telling the server. The server went to get the bar manager.
The bar manager, Laveane, never uttered a single apology, save as she was leaving and said ‘I’m sorry things weren’t to your specifications.’ My brother-in-law wanted to say, ‘No, they actually weren’t to YOUR specifications (the menu)!’
She told me that the kitchen staff had showed her a photo of my burger and she could see cheese. I was speechless. Was she calling me a liar? I thought afterwards that I should’ve said, ‘Well, if I can’t see any cheese or taste any cheese, does it really matter what photo the kitchen staff sent you??’
She did not apologize for the fact that my husband’s steak was stringy and poor quality, despite being the most expensive thing on the menu, or the fact that the mashed potatoes were literally cold to the touch, as was the replacement bowl of mash they brought out. She offered us a free dessert, which we politely declined. She then literally measured the amount of steak left on the plate and said, ‘Well, since you’ve eaten half of it (the steak only, mind), I can discount just your dish by 50%.’
The check came, with no discount. The server would not make eye contact or come when we tried to get his attention – we watched multiple tables come and go before he finally came back to us. He said, ‘Oh she didn’t tell me to discount it,’ before taking the check and bringing back the revised one.
We felt like we were in the twilight zone. Everything about the restaurant is lovely: the scenery, view, decor, vibes, menu. The thing that lets it down is the actual food, which feels like a 3-star hotel restaurant.
I honestly don’t know whose fault the food issues were, but the poor customer service and consistently cold food and poor preparation can only be a lack of effective and ongoing training.
We were so disappointed and left feeling like pariahs rather than three generally easygoing customers who just wanted a good, hot meal.
As Utah residents and regular visitors to Moab, we bring a lot of family and friends here and this experience really affected our likelihood of returning to the restaurant.

Don’t come hungry for dinner. Food is good but the portions are small for the price. See the 4 pieces of shrimp? That was $16. Sides are separate, the meat we ordered $30 just for that, the mac & cheese on the side is a separate order $16. View is great though. Spent over $200 for 3 people and we were still hungry.

Breakfast buffet isn’t bad for $22 per person.

Service was great and food was ok. Wife and I both had steak and although very tender, it lacked seasoning. Other than that the sangria special was a must have and the mash potatoes were to die for. Great place to eat but for $50 steak you’d think your mouth would explode with flavor.

Very nice restaurant with a great view. The quality of the food is good and the staff is friendly. I drink always wine in a goblet glass and they changed it without problems. The price is high (I paid 170 usd for two steaks and two glasses of wine) but is acceptable if you consider the location.

Came out for an evening dinner to enjoy the sunset and view over a meal. The closest reservation I could get to sunset was 5:45p which I was originally disappointed, but actually worked out for the better since I was able to take sunset pictures immediately after my meal. I suspect they hold sunset timeslots for actual guests of the hotel. With the reservation, was immediately seated with my choice of outside or a window table inside. It wasn’t too hot outside, but the waitress warned of flies when eating outside, so opted for the inside window table.

I wasn’t expecting much of the food as figured the restaurant was more about the view, but the food was surprisingly good. For appetizer, started off with the Sautéed Mushroom Buttons. These immediately came out upon ordered and were probably my least favorite of the foods. They tasted as had been sitting in a warming dish and that’s why they were able to be delivered immediately upon ordering. For the meals, ordered the Lamb Chop, Ribeye Steak, and Slow Roast Prime Rib. The Lamb Chop was my favorite as it was very juicy and had a flavorful cream & mushroom sauce. The Prime Rib and Ribeye steaks were both good cuts of meat that were a good portion size and cooked just as ordered. The sides with the meals of baked potatoes and vegetables were just ok and typical side items. For the dessert, ordered the Apple Bread Pudding which was pretty good. The apples was a nice twist to bread pudding, but I wasn’t a fan of the added raisins.

Overall, this was a nice restaurant to enjoy the Canyon views. I would rate the views higher than the food, but the food was still good. Prices were a little high for the quality, but I factor in the price of the view too. Service was good and all the waitstaff were very friendly. This is a good place to have a nice meal and view.

I got the chicken, it was SO good, I want to make it at home. It was like a chicken tortilla soup without the soup. Bison NY Strip was good. Mac and cheese was either loved or hated. The bar area doesn’t require reservations!

Fast and friendly service. Staff went above and beyond decorating a desert for a birthday. Food was average but price was expensive. There was a fly problem and the restaurant was hot inside. I ended up sweaty and ready to leave. Beautiful scenery was a plus.
