Spinach salad with chicken was excellent. Best I’ve ever had. The bread pudding is ridiculously good and their coffee is also excellent. Big shout out to Taylor, Hanna and McQuell.

The food here is amazing. Truly. I’m always impressed when someone takes something so basic, like a sandwich, and manages to make it mind blowing. Which Embe has done. I had the Dave and my companion had the Big Joe and both were divine. I will return and try other sandwiches!

Wife and I came in for a late lunch. It turned out to be one of the best pulled pork sandwiches I have ever had. I dont say that lightly. My wife loved her cornbeef brisket as well. The food was amazing, the service was great, and it was a fun place to eat. We will DEFINITELY be going back. The hardest part for me will be trying not to order the pulled pork as I heard there soups are amazing as well.

Let me start by saying, that this place rocks!
My husband and I had a mini getaway and wanted to check out some local places. We both agreed The Embe checked off the vibe we were looking for.
It had a retro neon-color vibe that’s great for all ages. ( Yes you heard that right family with kiddo came in as we were exiting.)
There was so many drinks that sounds scrumptious. We went with the Embe Collins Cocktail and Strawberry Field Martini, both were not only pleasing to the eye but refreshingly delicious.
We also got hot sandwiches…The Dave and The Embe. We loved them so much as asked for takeout. They were super kind and make our to-gos the best as we got sick of cafe food.
DO NOT SKIP ON THE BREAD PUDDING!!!
I would highly recommend the local spot to anyone looks for a good time.

First off, I’ve been going here for decades. Secondly, my wife and I decided to stop by on a date today and this place NEVER MISSES. The service, the staff, the hospitality, the cute little atmosphere.. 10 out of 10 all day, every day. Today we had the Hot ham and cheese ( Pepperjack ), the Screamin’ MB, a bowl of the seafood chowder, and a bowl of the chicken tortilla soup. The sandwiches are to die for. The quality of bun, meat, and love put into these are ridiculous. The homemade, YES homemade soups/chowders are the dare you to only have one bowl good. And to finish it all off you MUST HAVE the homemade bread pudding, or two! Not enough to be said about this eatery and experience. It is a VERY busy little place so please dont mind the wait if there is one, trust me ITS WORTH IT. You will not be disappointed, or hungry when you leave. *NEXT TIME I will get photo’s, I always forget because I’m anxiously waiting for my tastebuds to go into overload*

Their chicken Dave sandwich was great. The flavor of the sandwich was amazing. Even better was their bread pudding. It is probably the best I have ever had. The price for the entire lunch was extremely reasonable. I will definitely be going back next time I am in the area.

Walked in for a table with a baby, tables weren’t big enough for our whole party to sit together – no problem. I offered for us to take some seats at the bar and then the rest of our party would sit at the 4 person table with the baby for a high chair. We love this restaurant so much (food, great service in past) that we were willing to not sit our whole party together. The waitress / host was incredibly rude. She said “We cannot sit babies at the bar.” Like obviously. Which is why I said the rest of our party would sit at the table. She then said she “did not want a high chair over there.” Meaning the front of the restaurant near the window. Not sure how that makes sense. I could not believe the inconsideration – it felt like we were not welcome simply because we had a baby. We were so appalled since we have had excellent service every other time we have been here and the food is great. We were so offended we walked out – since it was obvious we were not going to be accommodated. Very disappointed.

Great cozy spot for excellent food and drinks. Started with the seafood soup of the day, then pastrami sandwich and chicken salad with oranges and cilantro dressing. Sangria and beer were great. Atmosphere great, service great, drinks great, food great and prices great. Can’t find any faults here, best hidden joint in Galena. Coming back here everytime.

We have been frequent visitors to Galena and long-time fans of Embe—specifically their pastrami and brisket—but today’s experience was unacceptable. Their website listed a 9 PM closing time, while a sign posted outside stated 5 PM. Despite arriving at 4 PM, we were met at the door by an individual who rudely informed us they were closing immediately.
Beyond the confusing hours, the staff member was incredibly disrespectful and essentially shut the door in my face. I chose not to escalate the situation because I was with my young daughters, but that is no way to treat loyal customers. We ended up at Gobbie’s instead, where we received great service. It’s a shame, but after being treated this way, we won’t be returning.

Wife and I both had the Cuban. Good sandwich, nice crunchy diced pickles, although I did expect a little more of a bite from the horseradish Dijon sauce. Bread pudding was a nice way to end the meal and we agreed it was delicious. Service was good and would definitely recommend.
