Incredibly disappointed with my recent and first visit to embargo. Drinks and food were adequate— tried the vegetable tempura, hummus, and their margarita along others. Nothing exceptional but nothing offensively bad either. The real reason for the poor experience comes squarely from management and service. We were rushed from our table after less than two hours so that other tables might be seated outside. Not a huge deal, but when I turned around and saw two vacant tables directly behind me, I was confused. Would have been enough to have been rushed once, but every one of the next several (3-4 people over maybe ten minutes) people that came over to our table mentioned that we needed to leave, which was overzealous and rude. Of course after being told once we were in a rush to get out of this place, but our actual waitress was nowhere to be found. Other folks had come to take dishes, remind us to leave, etc, but for 20-30mins while being consistently told to leave we were unable to find out waitress and close out. Should have just left anyway since the space was clearly so important to them. At one point someone stood directly in front of our table with a bar rag, presumably waiting to sanitize it once we left. This gentleman did not speak to us but instead chose to simply stare at me, which was unnerving and inappropriate. It was interesting that they were more than happy to have the guests on the hook for the general well-being of the restaurant, but not the actual staff. Service was not only inattentive to their patrons, but downright rude and uncaring. I will never return and I have been vocal to my friends and family in the area to stay away. With so much competition on Main Street Hyannis, choose any of the other multitudes of bars to enjoy.

We were 6 people and ordered a ton of items, all great (lobster roll, sushi, lamb chops, Caesar Salad, lobster mac n cheese, sliders and a few other items that I can’t remember ). Some of us are very picky eaters and self-proclaimed “foodies.” Each of us was very very happy. Service was outstanding, atmosphere very cool, delicious. NOT your typical Cape fried food tourist destination.

I travel all over the country and try not to stop at the traditional commercialized places so i stopped off at the emBargo. The selection of martinis were amazing. Great food and atmosphere. Fast and friendly service in a great area. Come check them out if your in the area.

I love a good tapas place with good cocktails so this restaurant fit the bill. It was St. Patrick’s day so all the drinks were green. They even had gluten free strawberry shortcake. It was a real treat, along with the coconut creme brulee. The scallops were just enough for me since I wasn’t that hungry.

Ate here this 4th of July. They had 1/2 priced tapas that my husband and I split. The stuffed mushrooms were amazing as were the mussels steak and cheese egg rolls and cod fingers. With drinks the bill was only 50$. Looking forward to our next visit.

We came here after hours so I can’t speak to the food. The drinks are great but it really depends on who makes your drink. The DJ is generally good, we had a lot of fun dancing.

So bad! Incompetent workers. Bartender made awful drinks and I actually had to send them back to be fixed and even then they weren’t good. Tried the food; regretted it! The rice in the sushi was hard and stale. The fish tacos were way too spicy. And the music was all over the place and kind of weird. Honestly, I suspect this place is only popular because people on vacation looking for a club have no other options in the area.
