ELYU Omakase is hands down one of the most exceptional dining experiences in Coral Gables. From the moment you walk in, the space feels intimate, elegant, and thoughtfully designed the perfect setting for a true omakase experience.
Every course was beautifully presented and incredibly fresh. The fish quality is outstanding, and you can truly taste the precision and care behind each bite. The progression of flavors felt intentional and balanced, with unique touches that elevated the entire meal without overpowering the simplicity of the ingredients.

An unforgettable New Year’s omakase experience

We chose Elyu Omakase to welcome the New Year, and it was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we sat down, the experience felt intentional, refined, and deeply thoughtful, exactly what you hope for when marking a special night.

The progression of the menu was impeccable. Each course told a story, balancing technique, seasonality, and creativity. Highlights included the Kumamoto oyster with dashi shell and Siberian caviar, clean, briny, and luxurious, and the Sinuglaw, which beautifully bridged cultures with smoked fish, jamón ibérico, and ikura in perfect harmony.

The sawara with brown butter miso and kabocha was comforting yet elevated, while the chawan mushi with matsutake was delicate and deeply aromatic. The nigiri sequence was flawless, each bite pristine, from kinmedai and sayori to the rich, melt-in-your-mouth otoro and negitoro maki.

Standout indulgences included the Elyu Toast with uni and toro tartare (pure decadence) and the A5 Wagyu with burgundy truffles, expertly prepared and unforgettable. Ending with miso ice cream, pumpkin crumble, and vanilla-poached pear was the perfect, unexpected finale, balanced, warm, and memorable.

The sake pairing deserves special mention. It was beautifully paced and easy to love, flowing seamlessly with the meal and enhancing each course without ever feeling intimidating.

The pairing began with Moon on the Water, light, crisp, and refreshing, an ideal start alongside the opening seafood dishes. This was followed by Kontaki “Pearls of Simplicity” Junmai Daiginjo, smooth and clean, with just enough depth to complement the food. The Shirakawago Sasangori (lightly cloudy sake) was a standout, soft, slightly creamy, and incredibly pleasant to drink.

Midway through the meal, a hot sake was served, perfectly timed and comforting, especially on a winter evening. The progression continued with Kikusui Junmai Taru, which added warmth and richness, and Tenryo Koshu (aged sake), deeper and smoother, pairing beautifully with the heartier courses. The pairing finished with Tozai “Blossom of Peace” Plum, light and gently sweet, a refreshing and easy finish.

Service throughout the evening was attentive without being intrusive, and the pacing was ideal for a celebratory night. Elyu doesn’t just serve food, it curates an experience. Ringing in the New Year here felt intimate, special, and deeply satisfying.

We will absolutely be back. A truly exceptional omakase and a perfect way to start the year. ✨

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Elyu Omakase – A Hidden Gem That Redefines the Omakase Experience

From the moment you walk into Elyu Omakase, you know you’re in for something extraordinary. The ambiance is intimate yet vibrant — minimalist elegance meets artistic warmth. Every detail feels intentional, from the music to the plating to the personal interaction with the chef.

The chef’s precision and creativity are remarkable. Each course tells its own story — fresh, seasonal ingredients presented with balance and depth. The toro simply melts, the uni is briny perfection, and the progression from light to rich dishes flows like a symphony. Even the rice is perfectly seasoned — warm, lightly vinegared, and in perfect harmony with each bite of fish.

What truly sets Elyu apart is the experience. It’s not just about sushi; it’s about connection — between flavors, textures, and the people sharing the moment. The team is warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about what they do.

Every bite feels elevated, yet never pretentious — a reminder of why omakase done right is a form of art.
If you’re looking for a world-class omakase experience in Miami, Elyu deserves a spot at the very top of your list.

✨ 10/10 — unforgettable, refined, and deeply soulful dining.

Elyu delivers a beautifully composed dining experience where each dish reveals layered, thoughtful flavors rather than relying on excess. Courses unfold with precision and restraint, allowing subtle contrasts and seasonal elements to shine, especially through the progression of nigiri and warm dishes like the Chawan Mushi.

The experience is elevated by Cameron’s sake pairing, which is exceptionally well judged. Each pour complements and extends the dishes without overpowering them, adding depth and flow to the meal.

A special mention goes to the Elyu Toast—rich, indulgent, and perfectly balanced. It’s a memorable bite that captures the restaurant’s ethos in one moment.

Refined, intentional, and quietly confident, Elyu is a place that rewards attention and leaves a lasting impression.
