Doing a food review today
TikTok told me these tacos were life-changing, so of course I had to go see what the hype was about.
I ordered chicken, beef, and steak (only toppins onions and cilantro) — two of each, because we do real research over here
Final verdict? They were… okay. Not nasty, not amazing, just living in the middle. The kind of tacos you eat, nod your head, and say “mmm” but never think about again.
Would I drive back across town for them? No.
Would I eat them again if they magically appeared in front of me? Maybe
It was crowded, everybody and they mama’s was there…. line out the door.

I came here today with my friend and we had an amazing time. It reminded me of the times I visited Cancun. The workers and servers kind and hospitable. The best thing of all was those tacos. There was no Dairy including cheese or sour cream on the tacos. It was true Mexican food that was healthy and not heavy. I didn’t feel like going home to sleep after eating. The meat was seasoned so well. My friend and I got the true authentic Mexican experience and we also had the opportunity to enjoy great customers and staff while we were there!

The food here is great and fresh. The atmosphere is clean. The service is awesome. They have taco Tuesday and Thursday. You can get tacos for $1.49 on those days. The Burria tacos are scrumptious.

Ely Tortilla Factory and Carnicería serves up some of the most authentic Hispanic food you’ll find anywhere. From the moment you walk in, the smell of fresh tortillas and food hits you, they’re made in-house daily and sold by the dozen, warm and soft straight off the press. The place stays busy with locals who know where to find real flavor. Don’t bother trying to order in English; this spot stays true to its roots, and that’s part of what makes it special. Everything on the menu is packed with rich, homemade taste, from the tacos and tamales to the meats straight from the butcher counter. If you want the real deal, Ely’s is it ….. pure authenticity and incredible food every time.

Great spot for some authentic Mexican street style tacos. While they have some small tables setup for dining there your best bet is takeout. Super friendly staff you would do best to brush up on your Spanish though just in case (JK kinda). Great place for Taco Tuesday $1.50 tacos with as many or little toppings as you’d like. The portions are decent the flavor is pretty standard/good. I would suggest not going late as they do run out of some of their options. They have a mini Mart of sorts too so you can get some snacks, cheese etc. This place may not be spotless or bright, shiny and new but they’ve been around long enough to know what they’re doing and do it well I might add.

I went on a Saturday morning at 8:30. Meat market with seating on one half and hot food and check out on the other. The process for eating is-order your food at hot table counter, get ticket, so sit down and waitress will bring your order, when finished go to counter with ticket and let them know you ate in the restaurant.
Tortillas were good but I have to agree with other posts that the meat was dry and not well-seasoned. My carne asada tacos were $2.50 each- I didn’t think $5 for breakfast with these beef prices was pricey. I’ll be back to try other items.

Could have been better. The meats was precooked and been sitting. It was pretty dry and lost it flavor. Burrito was small, very disappointed. If I go back there again, it would be for something else. I saw some beef jerky and those half chickens, looks promising.

Was given an already squeezed lime to go with my very, very dry food. On top of that the inside of the establishment is so dirty. I hadn’t noticed how dirty it was until after I ordered so I still ate the food but the tortillas were SO dry. They are dry every time I eat here. Done eating here

This hidden gem is a must do in Charlotte. We came for taco Tuesday and were welcomed with the best service. You can choose the toppings of your taco ans can get as many as you want for $1.50 a piece. We also got the rice and beans on the side which is served in a soup cup. I think it was the best rice and beans I ever had in Charlotte! Go check out the local business. Can’t wait to try more of their menu items.
