Read the reviews for an hour as we drove west. Settled on the trout taco, 2 wings, and Philly brisket wrap. When we got there we decided to add on the Tijuana dog and a small potato salad. Finished everything. The horseradish sauce on the wrap and taco were so good. The potato salad was a little too much Mayo for me but the flavor was great. The wrap was phenomenal brisket and the right amount of melted cheese. And those wings!! That dry rub!

It was awesome! It felt like a hole in the wall type of place but those are often the best, as in this case. We had the brisket taco and dry ribs with spicy slaw. All fantastic.

Chose Elwoods for our last day in Memphis because of the positive reviews. They definitely lived up to them! Pictured is the 1/2 lb plate with brisket and jerk wings – it came with two sides not in the picture. Service was personable, I assume the manager, went over the menu and recommendations. My only comment is the cleanliness as it was busy and lots of people in and out but that’s normal in lunch rush.

For this to be a catering order, I was highly disappointed. I am from out of town, and I have never seen BBQ catering this way. Thought I was going to get some great BBQ for my family because it is a holiday and alot of places are closed. Will not recommend ordering with them as far as trying to feed more than 5 people

The meats were juicy and the gentleman who greets us has to be by far one of the most vibrant, friendly, genuinely caring employees at any establishment I have ever met. Even if I disliked the food I would simply go back regularly for the BBQ here because of him!

This place blew me away. The ribs are absolutely perfect – even “Memphis dry” they’re so juicy you don’t need the sauce. The KC Candy Melt is decadent and delicious. Even the baked beans were some of the best I’ve had. Might just be the best BBQ in Memphis.

Elwood’s is the best. Our family stopped here for lunch because of the great reviews, and we were not disappointed! It’s all true: the food is fantastic, it’s a funny shack in the back corner of a Lowe’s parking lot, the atmosphere is full of character, it’s kid-friendly, and the people are super nice. One of our kids left a sweatshirt there, and when we called back about it, they not only looked for it and returned our call, they actually took the time to mail it back to us for free. Who does that these days?! Go support these awesome people! Highly recommended.
