We stopped in to try the newly renovated Elvira’s, and wow — what an upgrade! The space is beautiful, bright, and much more spacious, making it a comfortable spot to sit down and enjoy a meal. The addition of fantastic table service makes the whole experience feel elevated while still being warm and welcoming.
The food was absolutely outstanding. We shared the carne asada nachos and tacos (the kids immediately gave them 5 stars!) and the birria tacos, which were packed with flavor and also deserving of a 5-star rating. What stood out most was how good the meat was on its own — tender, juicy, and seasoned perfectly — but every element on the plate worked together to make it even more delicious.
To top it off, I had a piña colada that was perfectly blended and refreshing, the ideal balance of sweet and creamy.
All around, this place is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic, flavorful Mexican food in a great new atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back!

I was driving around, craving tacos and this was the first place that pop up on my GPS. First off, this place tacos are cheaper then place that have Taco Tuesday specials, so you can eat tacos any day of the week for cheap. The tacos are delicious each with its unique flavor profile. I enjoy the cabeza, and birria ones. They have over 7 different ones to chose from, something for everyone. If you order 2 of the Queso birria tacos you get some free consomé. If you near the area, and craving some authentic Mexican food, come support this local business. The staff are friendly and They even have menudo. Tell them Simon sent you. This place get my stamp of approval.

Tacos were so good we had to come back twice, on our trip in Palm Springs!
Tips: taco Tuesday for cheap tacos between 4pm-9pm.
Best ones were: El Pastor and Carne Asada
Not as great: Carnitas

This spot is solid. The salsas are really good, and the carne asada had a nice little char that hit just right. I got the carne asada quesadilla and loaded fries (no pico), and everything was super tasty. Service was quick and the staff was chill. I’ll definitely be back!

Looking for authentic Mexican food? You’ve found it! You order at the counter and the food is then brought to your table. Dress code: casual. Despite the place being quite full, we received our order fairly quickly. Everything tasted fresh and homemade. It was delicious.

Elvira’s Taqueria is absolutely unreal. From the perfectly roasted meats and fresh, flavorful veggies to the handmade tortillas that steal the show, every bite is top-tier. The service is always fast, friendly, and effortless. Hands down, this is what I miss most about the Coachella Valley, nothing else comes close!

I placed an order for pick up and when get home there were items missing. I rarely go there, order is not being checked for accuracy or put spoons/fork/napkins. They offer for you to go back but why? Food was okay. They need to make sure order is correct.

Came to this place to pick up my order placed over the phone. First I got the wrong order and noticed when I almost got home that was not a problem I went back to get the correct one and obviously pay for it as well just like I did with the first wrong one. Well first order was voided and then I got my receipt because mind you I didn’t get one on the first one. Okay long story short my receipt showed one price and on my card statement was a totally different price. Is not about the money, is about the honesty with its customers. If you ask me that’s stealing because why was I given one price and actually charged a different one?! I would say just be careful when paying with card. Food was great not complaining about none of that!

This is by far our new favorite restaurant for Mexican food. The carnitas and Carne asada are absolutely delicious. (The carnitas are only served on weekends, so dont miss out) The guy preparing the food behind the glass was an artist at his craft. Watching him prepare the food and seeing the pride he takes in preparing each dish was amazing to watch. We first went to this place 4 weeks ago and have already been back five times. Highly recommended, and We Will Be Back!

Very small restaurant. We came at lunchtime in the line was long. Which means good food, which it was. Took a while to get the food. Just a few tables inside, maybe 10 or so. Good menu with several meat choices and some fish choices. We saw several people coming in for pickup orders. That being said, when we tried to call and see if they were open, nobody answered the phone, most likely because they were so busy making and preparing the food. Probably could have used another employee in the food prep.
