Best salsa and carne asada I have had in my life. I am a big fan of a different Mexican restaurant and I have to say Elvira’s salsa is even better. I got the shrimp and steak fajitas and I don’t even like fajita veggies like that but with the carne asada juices, it was delicious. Good crust / sear, tender but not soggy. Everything was delicious with good portion sizes. 10/10

Last night my friends and I dined at Elvira’s Grill in Upland. For three of the four of us, it was our first time there.

For starters, we had chips and salsa. They were both good. I liked their salsa, it was “tomato-y” with just the right amount of heat. We also tried their guacamole, which was was prepared at our table. That was excellent. The flavor was on-point.

For my entree, I ordered the Steak Picado. It’s kind of like Mexican stir-fry… or maybe saucier, more flavorful fajitas. It was steak cooked with green peppers, onions, and tomatoes. It also came with rice, beans, and tortillas (I chose corn tortillas). It was delicious. Everyone else enjoyed their entrees as well.

Our server was very nice and she was quite attentive. The service was excellent.

Overall, I highly recommend the place.

The steak shrimp fajitas and grilled salmon was 10/10 really good quality dishes at this spot. Price is good too.

Tried this spot for the first time tonight and omg it did not disappoint.
We tried the guac, Elvira’s salad with grilled chicken, chicken tortilla soup, steak tacos, and topped it off with a deep fried ice cream. Everything was DELICIOUS and our server Angel was amazing. I got tired just watching him go from table to table not missing a beat. Even though he was super busy he was very friendly and attentive. We will definitely be coming back.

Great little family owned and run Mexican restaurant. Food is consistently good. Service is good and friendly. I find the food here is better than their Claremont location. I like the fish tacos, carne asada tacos, and tostadas. Chips and salsa are good too. Sometimes the salsa can be a little hot.

Came up from San Diego and this restaurant was highly recommended by my brother who lives near by. It did not disappoint! Very cut ambiance. All the paintings in the restaurant are absolutely gorgeous! The food was delicious! We had the table side guacamole, tortilla soup, a mole enchilada and the steak fajita salad. Nothing disappointed. My sister, my mom and I enjoyed every bit of it! Andres was our server and after a long day at the hospital crying all day for my brothers surgery he really lightened the mood and was so accommodating and friendly. His service was a compliment to the food. If we had Elvira’s in SD I would definitely be a regular customer!

I’m not going to lie , it’s expensive. But you definitely get what you pay for. The carne asada is fire . We got a carne asada wet burrito and asada tacos. The meat has a really good flavor. I’m a very picky eater. Tacos are big. I wrote 20/30 dollars as I paid 69 for 2 ppl but I fed 4 people (2 adults and 2 kids) with the food I got. So not bad.

We love the food here. There are two locations but this one is closer to our house. When have ordered take out and dined in. Its much quieter than the Claremont location which is nice when we want a more chill meal. And the fried ice cream is delicious!!

Came here to celebrate my mom’s birthday-she’d been craving good Mexican food. She got Enchilada de Suiza, I got Enchilada con mole, dad got the combo plate with crunchy taco and enchilada, hubby got carnitas wet burrito verde. We also got the guacamole and they made it in front of us. I think the highlight of the meal was actually their house salsa and chips. Their salsa is one of the best I have ever tasted. It was slightly roasted/charred, has the perfect amount of spiciness and smokiness. We couldn’t get enough of it! I’m not a big fan of mole personally- I ordered it because I had never tried mole before. To each their own I guess. The other dish were delicious, I like their salsa verde they put on the wet burrito and the carnitas was so flavorful. My mom also loved her enchiladas.

Been’ there
The food is partially authentic and partially Americanized Mexican. And if I have to be blunt it’s overpriced Mexican inspired American that’s missing the big Mexican flavors. I can’t even pick a place/region in Mexico to identify with one flavor. I think it’s 2 Stars but I want to be gentle on the workers who work very hard. I’d rather see real lettuce on the tostada and not iceberg. I saw a lot of people ordering fajitas but even this it does not make sense if this is real Mexican. Unfortunately, flavor and identity is a big deal. And simply the flavor here has an identity issue. The heartburn I got it’s a terrible revelation that good Mexican food has super flavors and it does not hurt like this
