Reviews
Boy were the reviews incorrect, and misleading.
Food portions were tiny, it reminded me of eating in a public school.
The price of those portions is insanely overpriced.
Beef was alright, no true flavor.
Sausage was dry as a bone, and heavily seasoned.
Bologna was flavorless.
Potato salad? A joke. It was more cold potato than anything.
The service was questionable.
It was a one man show, and he was all over the place. I have to admire a man trying to hold his own but there is a time and a need for help to be hired.
Will not be returning.
The ends were fabulous!!! Very juicy, meaty and absolutely great!!!!! No sauce needed! Keith was so friendly. The tiny dining area is wonderfully decorated with vintage poster of great Blues musicians!! I left completely satisfied !!
And gotta say, the food is still fantastic! I’ve been getting the Badwhich here lately (with hot links and on the bun), as it has a lil’ bit of everything, comes with a rib and two sides.
I love getting the corn on the cob and Mac-n-Cheese. But if they’re out of one of the items (since it’s made in house), I also love the coleslaw.
The owner is very personable and wants you to have a great meal, which is why I’m always eager to come back!
The potato salad was mashed-like, which was new to me. Salmon was flavorful and a bit dry. (Maybe the smoking does that) Make sure to purchase some bbq sauce to take home, great flavor, and 3 options to choose from.
Decor was entertaining and full of history.
Same friendly folks and fortunately, the same amazing food! This is THE barbeque place that I judge all others against. The owner, Keith, said, “Good barbeque makes you happy.” Well, I was very happy today! The ribs are my favorite menu item but, over the years, I have had most everything on the menu and it’s all good. Pulled pork, beef, chicken, sausage, hot links, you name it, it’s good. It’s so good that there is no need to use sauce but their sauces are awesome and must be sampled. They have a spice I can’t identify that gives them that signature Elmer’s taste.
The new place is nice. The blues is still playing and the B B King Epiphone is still proudly displayed. It’s in a popular trendy area a couple of blocks south of 31st St. The only drawback is parking. The area was really crowded and parking was in short supply. Don’t worry about that though, the Q is worth hunting for a place to park.
Go to Elmer’s!
Eat great Barbeque!
Be happy that you’re helping a local business!
