Best falafel in Portland! The falafel was so fresh and delicious. I will definitely be coming back. There was a nice sitting area to eat and it was walking distance from my hotel. The service was amazing and personable. The gentleman cooking cooked from the heart and you could taste it in the food he prepared. Thank you Elmasry for the memorable experience while in Portland. I can’t wait to see you again when I return.

If you’re looking for authentic Egyptian halal food in Portland, look no further because this place is an absolute gem. The lamb saj is the star of the menu, perfectly seasoned, tender, and wrapped in warm, fresh saj bread that tastes like it came straight from a Cairo street market. Every bite is packed with rich flavor, and you can tell the ingredients are fresh and carefully prepared.
The service is just as impressive as the food. The owner is truly wonderful and goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. He treats every customer like a guest in his own home and you can feel how passionate he is about sharing Egyptian cuisine with the community.
Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or sitting down for a full meal, the combination of incredible food, heartfelt hospitality, and authentic flavors makes this one of Portland’s must-visit halal spots. Highly recommended!

Atmosphere – Streetfood style in the middle of portland – great!
Service – Outstanding. We came to visit portland for 1 night when we visited Elmasry for dinner. Gharib, the owner, was so hospitable. Even though I am not related to him in any way, he really serviced us and took care of us as if we were his family. I would definitely recommend Elmasry in Portland if you are looking for Halal eats!

Had a chicken shawarma plate from Elmasry and it was delicious! The shawarma was well seasoned and had a satisfying texture. The rice was also tasty. Portion size was certainly generous, making the already reasonable price an even better value. The owner is friendly and easy to chat with. Glad I picked Elmasry today, this meal was thoroughly enjoyed!

I’m from Seattle, visited a few months ago and was handed a free sample of their lamb. Immediately fell in love and ordered one to go! BEST lamb gyro I have ever had, nowhere in Seattle could compare. I had to come back during my Portland visit today just to get another one. Tastes just as phenomenal as the first time I had it. Bonus points because the people working are so friendly!! This will always be a stop for me when I visit. Thank you for the great food!

The sign hanging from this food truck says “best gyros in town” and I have to say, I agree. Ordered the Lamb Gyro ($11) and was very satisfied. Not too long of a wait and a good, large portion. The spicy sauce (he asked before putting it on) wasn’t very spicy and paired really well with the creamy tzatziki sauce. I took my gyro to the waterfront and ate on the steps overlooking the river and the Hawthorne bridge (off Salmon street, 10-ish minute walk). Highly recommend!
