What an amazing restaurant! We were so touch by personal attentiveness from owner to staffs. Restaurant was clean and lively, food came out quickly and very generous portion, not to mention fresh and delicious. A great spot for seafood where you’re treated like family in a lively and precious atmosphere.

By some awful luck, we wound up in Greenwich, CT while on our way to a different part of the state. Amidst a sea of pampered, Lululemon-clad trad wives, we made our hungry way to Elm Street Oyster House for a seafood-focused lunch. The food was tasty, the service was friendly and I left feeling like I actually had something positive to say about the area (for once).

The special Pan Fried Oysters were the perfect garlicky and tomato-y start to take the edge off our rumbling stomachs. My main was the deeply satisfying Sweet & Spicy Arrabbiata, which came loaded with plump shrimp, juicy mussels and chewy calamari, over lots of al dente rigatoni with fresh basil. Exactly what I want to be enjoying on a warm, summer day. The special Clams and Chorizo in Wine Broth was equally satisfying, with lots of clams for what was billed as a brunch appetizer.

Prices were at Manhattan level, but with bigger portions, so there wasn’t as much sticker shock. I don’t see myself donning a pearl necklace or tying a J-Crew cardigan around my shoulders anytime soon, so I probably won’t go out of my way to intentionally visit Greenwich again–but if I do accidentally wind up there again, I know where I’ll be brunching.

Had a good lunch here. The service was friendly and we enjoyed the oysters the most out of everything we ordered.

Disappointing dinner tonight at Elm Street Oyster house. We both ordered hot lobster rolls and unfortunately mine came out cold. Not like a cold lobster roll with mayo but a hot buttery one, only the lobster meat was room temp/cold. There was barely any meat on the roll to warrant a price of $45 and whatever was on there was overcooked. To top it off I was given the end piece of the bread. Most expensive lobster roll for being the 2nd worst I’ve ever had.

Our server didn’t come over once to see how it was or if we needed anything so I ended up eating it because I was so hungry. Luckily the fries and coleslaw were good. Definitely do not recommend this place.

Solid experience at the oyster house. I got a chili seafood and scallops. They were solid but not the best I’ve ever ate. Overall I’d recommend this if you are in the area and just need some good seafood. ML

One of the best New England clam chowders I’ve ever had! The mussels appetizer was pretty good and the fries were perfectly crispy. Cozy place with a very old school oyster house feel. Looking forward to going back to try now menu items.

This was the best meal I had in Greenwich. It has a great atmosphere, fantastic service and the food is delicious. Do not miss the pan fried oysters. Not your thing? OK there is plenty to choose from on the menu and it is all terrific. Portions are generous and the bill will not break the bank. Service was friendly, attentive and efficient. Highly recommended

The food here is fine, nothing spectacular but not bad either. The Atmosphere is very charming.
The service was sub par. Our waitress ( Angelina) was disinterested in her duties the day we were there. It was fine, everyone had an off day. My problem is, I left a tip that indicated my displeasure with our service.
$122 bill and a $20 tip. To me this wasn’t a great tip and I wanted her to know.
What happened after is unconscionable, SOMEONE changed the tip amount to $35 dollars! I caught it in my credit card statement and had to dispute the charge.
Of course you have to have proof, so I had to scour my car to find the receipt, which I would normally throw away. Be aware, do not throw your credit card receipts out and check your statement after leaving this restaurant!
