Humble craft brewery featuring a bar with its beers & a restaurant with classic hearty dishes.

We stumbled upon this place on the drive home from hiking Mount Monadock. We were looking for a non-chain establishment. This was our first time here, but definitely not our last. We ordered several different appetizers and a few different burgers and melts. Unfortunately, I didn’t get pictures of the burgers and melts. However, all of the food was delicious. The staff was super friendly. I definitely recommend checking out this place.

At Elm City Brewing, the Force flows strong—both in the craft brews and in the kitchen. The service here moved with the swiftness of a Jedi strike, attentive yet never overbearing.
I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich with fries, and balance was achieved—crispy chicken, fiery sauce, and a cool touch of dressing to keep the spice at just the right level. The fries, golden and seasoned, were worthy companions to the meal, with a pickle spear guarding the plate like a loyal Padawan.
The brewery itself carries the charm of a repurposed brick stronghold, where the air hums with the spirit of hops and history. A fine place to gather, whether you seek the calm of the Light Side or a flight of bold, hoppy brews that tempt you toward the Dark.

We were so excited to come to experience the hot spot of Keene. I wish the waitress didn’t forget about us, them forgot our order, and never even asked how we were doing. I was sad over how extremely bland food was. I appreciate dishes without much flavor cus of stomach issues but the pork schnitzel was extremely bland. From the egg noodles, vegetables and even the pork itself- they all tasted the same- like nothing. It was quite incredible I’ve never had so much on my dish taste like absolutely nothing. My friend ordered the smash? burger- took two bites and didn’t eat another bite because that was also bland. It definitely was not worth the 30 minute wait to be seated and the 15 min wait for the waitress to come back to us because she forgot our order and the 45 min wait for the worst food I’ve tasted this year. If the service was friendly and kind it would definitely be less upsetting. Our pretzel also tasted burnt

Been coming for years. They changed their menu 2 or 3 years ago now and it’s still terrific. Recent visit we had an Indian flatbread and wings for apps and fish and chips (which I never had there) for entrees. Delicious, large portions, excellent.

ECB had been our go to place for many years, since opening actually. Prior to COVID we’d go weekly but then our life schedules changed requiring travel so we were away. We recently went back a couple of times but each visit has been very disappointing. The beer, service and atmosphere are still very good but the food..what happened? It tastes cheap and just meh, especially the fries. What used to be hearty steak fries are now more like cheap Burger King or fast food fries. We also used to like the lighter lunch options such as the smoked salmon but we didn’t see that on menu. Oh well, I don’t expect this to change anything but we’ll still go for a pint or some wings here and there because the people and beer are fantastic.

Stopped in for dinner and drinks and had a great experience. It was easy to get a table, plenty of parking, the staff were attentive, and our orders came out fast. The burger I ordered was so good I didn’t get a picture of it but I did manage to get pictures of our drinks. The beer was smooth and the cocktails were delicious. The atmosphere was laid back and the music was the right volume so you could hear the person next to you.

A regular stop for my wife and I, so maybe I am a bit biased but here are my takeaways from a retail management perspective.
– new to us menu items: Veggie burger made in house with a few familiar flavors but still guessing the recipe, excellent texture. A solid choice for those with or without vegetarians preferences. Tortellini had a simple & classic taste profile with plenty of color from the veggies.
– Spinach & Artichoke dip! Always our go to appetizer, bagel chips aren’t always available but we got lucky with a generous amount of parm and seasonings. I swear they have updated the recipe because it’s better than ever.
– Waiter was pleasant & energetic, impressive on the tail end of a Sunday dinner shift. When we complimented the quick bar service, he was clearly very proud of the team he had with him. It’s great to see team recognition as part of a successful whole!

The NY strip steak and baked salmon were delicious. Great atmosphere and friendly service.

Keene, New Hampshire. A town known for rowdy college blowouts and an obsession with pumpkins that borders on cult-like. It’s not the place you’d expect to find a brewery serving margarita flights that make you question your passport status — but here we are.
Elm Brewery is a refuge. A brick-and-wood sanctuary where good beer flows and the lighting makes everyone look 15% more interesting. The ale? It’s the kind of stuff that makes you want to storm into a boardroom and shout, “Bottle this now, you cowards.” It’s damn good — smooth, flavorful, like it was brewed with actual pride and a touch of rebellion.
The food is comfort with a capital “C.” I ordered the beef stroganoff — and yes, it came with meatballs. Not traditional, but I’m not mad about it. Creamy, rich, a little indulgent — like something your Eastern European grandma would make if she smoked weed and listened to Metallica.
My brother made the tactical error of ordering the cheesesteak, which he didn’t love. (You go to a brewery in New Hampshire and expect Philly-level cheesesteak? Rookie move.) But the fried mushrooms and spinach artichoke dip? Beautiful. Golden-fried perfection and gooey, cheesy goodness. The kind of bar snacks that keep you from ever leaving.
And then there were the margarita flights. Four mini glasses of pure tropical escapism. Lime, spice, maybe even some fruit you can’t pronounce — it was like a Cancun beach party in a snow globe. Weirdly magical.
The staff? On point. Friendly without being fake. The kind of people who look you in the eye, know their menu, and don’t mind a weird question or two.
Elm Brewery isn’t trying to be trendy. It’s not chasing hashtags or TikTok fame. It’s just doing its thing — and doing it well. If you’re in Keene and need a break from pumpkin mobs or college-town chaos, this is your place. Grab a seat, order a beer, and enjoy the ride.
