A convenient location with ample parking and plenty of seating. The corgi theme is cute, although there is not an obvious explanation (presumably Ellie is/was a corgi?) The menu is varied enough for everyone from carnivores to vegans to find something, and the cocktails are creative. The red beans and rice were certainly a unique take on the concept, but very tasty. The bakery items are also fresh and impressive. During our visit, there was only one server working the entire restaurant, and we were very impressed with her friendliness and efficiency. Luckily the kitchen was fully staffed and food came out amazingly fast!

Tried Ellie’s Restaurant in Yellow Springs — we did takeout this time.
My daughter ordered the chicken sandwich with kettle chips and a pickle spear. It was good. Not blow-your-mind, but solid and enjoyable.
My husband went with the Southern Skillet and really liked it. Beautiful biscuit, but the texture was really dry but it was still a win.
I ordered a side of bacon (because… bacon) and the tomato basil soup.
The bacon was good. It’s bacon. It did its job.
The soup, though… tasted more like pizza sauce. Same consistency, same vibe. That one was honestly disappointing.
BUT — redemption arc:
The coconut cake was to die for. Absolute ⭐️ of the show. Worth ordering again all by itself.
Also worth noting — the server who checked me out was really nice, which always matters.
Would we go back?
Yes — but mostly for that cake.

I dont like to give bad reviews. Everyone has a bad day. We checked in online an hour early because we had 6 people. Timer on the site said 10-20 wait. We arrived minutes before our time and still had to wait 45 minutes. So an hour and 45 minutes to get a seat. The front end people, all three of them were more intrigued by something on their phone and bothered I asked how long. On tonour server, obviously upset over something. She just did not want to be there. Our food, was fantastic. See photos, fresh, hot and delicious. Did not aee much of our server after the food was run out. Took forever to get our check. The coffee and espresso were amazing. The place was spotless clean and smelled amazing. So this is a 50/50 review. We will probably go back and try it again. We love the atmosphere and food. Remember, this is just what we experienced and is just my opinion.

Delicious food, perfectly cooked eggs, chicken, and potatoes. Best scrambled eggs I’ve had in a long time – creamy yet “well done”, and delicious. Their baked goods taste homemade and also are a real treat. Check out the gift shop in the hotel.

The food was delicious-chicken and waffles top notch! It came with a honey butter and special bourbon syrup that added a different flavor that was perfect. The service was phenomenal. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable of our questions. The atmosphere was beautiful and quaint.

Fantastic fried chicken. Regular coffee is good, espresso drinks are just ok. Recommend the Southern Skillet.

Ellie’s in Yellow Springs was amazing! Our server, Jennifer, was incredibly accommodating, and the food was absolutely divine—every bite was a treat. Highly recommend for a memorable dining experience.
Food: breakfast skillet, chicken and waffle with normal maple syrup, and shrimp and grits. Get the shrimp and grits!
Drink: Berry French 75 ❤️

We tried out Ellie’s after walking around the Glen Helen Nature Preserve, and it didn’t disappoint! The atmosphere was very cute with lots of corgi decorations (biased because we have a corgi), and it was nice and clean inside. Our food was pretty good — I had the Marry Me Chicken, my husband had the Corgi Club, and our daughter had the grilled cheese — not necessarily mind-blowing, but the side of collard greens was delicious! The coconut layer cake was the star of the show, as I LOVED the cream cheese frosting on it. I should’ve brought home several of them! Our server, Austin, was also amazing; he was extremely attentive and helpful with extra little requests here and there. He definitely made our experience there five times better! Overall, a pretty good experience for an early Saturday dinner in Yellow Springs. 🙂

Very nice restaurant at Mills Park Hotel (hotel appeared to be very nice also). Staff was very nice. Bottles of water brought to table as a courtesy without asking. I always like that, it reminds me of a courtesy you use to receive at all restaurants years ago.
My wife has celiac disease and waitress made sure kitchen knew it. Chef came out and made sure her food restrictions were met.
Food was excellent with nice portions. There were 4 of us and no complaints only praise. Food was priced at a fair price. We sat out on their porch and enjoyed the beautiful day.
The don’t take reservations but if you call ahead about 30 minutes before you get there they will put you on the waiting list. That is why I listed no wait. We were seated when we arrived. If you just show up I would expect waiting for a little bit.
