Had a good experience at Ellie’s today! For pros- our server was fantastic. The food was also good!! I got the Garden Omelet and really liked it! For cons, the service was extremely slow. We got there at 10:45am and didn’t leave until 12:30. It was a Sunday and we did have a larger group, but still. Overall I’d go back next time I visit Yellow Springs!

The chicken and waffles were recommended by our AirBnB (The River House) host. The chicken was cooked to perfection, the meat was tender and juicy, the coating was crunchy, soooo good. The waffles were delicious with a touch of sweetness even without the syrup and the molasses syrup complimented the Waffle’s flavor. The only downside was the though the chicken was properly hot and juicy, the waffles were very lukewarm and so were the potatoes, though also flavorful. The coffee was hot and delicious.

One of our favorite places to eat! The atmosphere is very nice and they have an updated outdoor seating area on the front porch which is lovely too. The food is always consistently good, my only complaint is I wish they would add more options or variety to the menu. We’ve been going there for 7 years now and I don’t think hardly a thing has changed or been added to the menu.

Absolutely delicious and delightful. Excellent Southern cooking! Wonderful flavors and creative combinations. Beautiful new building. Fabulous service. Make sure to come early if interested in a wider selection of baked treats. And for now dinner is only on the weekend. Enjoy!

The only reason this place is even getting 1 star is because the food was good! Me and my husband went in for breakfast, everything was great except when we got our food our waitress didn’t come back to check on us let alone bring us our bill for 50 minutes. It wasn’t even busy. We watched tables of 4 order their food, get their food, get plates taken out of the way, and even got dessert all while our waitress was obviously going out of her way to avoid us. If she had walked by I would have stopped her but for 50 minutes she made a point to take a different route to avoid us. Finally I had to ask a different waiter for our bill and he got our waitress. The place was not packed. She was constantly at everyone else’s table but ours. I think she came ti our table a total of 3 time. To order drinks, order food, then deliver food. The food was amazing, service sucked.

Great brunch place in Yellow Springs. Not high end but yummy and cute. I had avocado toast and friend had a salad and we both thought it was good. I also had an espresso martini which was great. No complaints. Will go back.

Very pleasant surprise, definitely the highlight of dining in Yellow Springs! Food was fantastic, best Chicken and Waffles ever, my wife got the Blueberry French Toast with Lemon Curd, it was incredible too! Beautiful facility, Yellow Springs is blessed as a small community to have such an icon as both the restaurant and hotel!

Pleasant dining room, clean and comfortable, and the service was very good. Our breakfast was okay; a little lacking in flavor – we had the garden omelette – and the coffee was tasteless and not hot enough. Pre-packaged jam and jelly seems outdated for 2023, and more in keeping for a lesser quality chain or fast food establishment. Serve your jam like you did your ketchup. Lastly, the price of our meal differed from that shown on the website, so that should definitely be updated, and meant that we could not tip our waitress as generously. Despite all this, we would most likely visit again. Thank you.
