Good southern brunch food. I went with my little in the Big Brother Big Sister program. She got the shrimp and grits and I got the mushroom goat cheese bowl. It was definitely 90% mushrooms but was good. I would try and sub potatoes vs biscuit in the future.
I got the honey bee latte that was really tasty. After we ate, we stayed and talked for another 30/45 minutes and the service was patient and didn’t push us out which I appreciated. If the restaurant was more crowded I wouldn’t have done so but I appreciated the time.

WOW!! We drive by this place all the time, usually in the evening. They close at 3 but today we managed to go in for lunch. The food was delicious, the service was exceptional, and the place is beautiful. Very clean and well decorated. The prices are reasonable. There are a lot of options for the types of food choices. We almost always taste each other’s food and was pleasantly surprised. This isn’t a fast food, everything tastes the same, kind of place.

Ok. I had the meatloaf, spinach, and side salad for $18. My boyfriend had BLTE with sweet potatoes fries. I do not think Ellen is from Connecticut because northerners do not know how to cook southern food. The spinach had bacon in it and the meatloaf was prime Angus, which made me feel slightly healthy. Not sure my cardiologist would approve of the spinach if he had seen it but I can report that I ate spinach. Great meal!

The atmosphere here is nice and enjoyed the spanish pop music playing. Their steak and eggs were disappointing. The steak was dry and chewy with a lot of fat. Not worth the money. The breakfast pot pie dish was too rich and not that tastey. Maybe next time we’ll get more lucky with the food.

Let’s start with the service, it was great! Here’s by the bartender(I think) when we first walked in then seated very quickly. It waitress was very sweet and attentive without crowding us. I ordered a brunch punch, it was decent. Fruity and not to strong, my wife had a belini which she enjoyed. There were some boarded up windows, not sure what happened, but I was not bothered by it.
She ordered a BLT and fries that had avocado and a fried egg on it which she said she liked.
I had a chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, and Mac and cheese. The steak was horrible, it wasn’t seasoned and whoever cooked it failed to tenderize it and dredged it horribly, so it was tough, greasy and incapable of keeping the breading on it so the unseasoned steak was just sad. The Mac and cheese sauce had a stage grit to it almost like the rue want cooked down enough( or it was frozen). The mashed potatoes were okay, a few bites you could taste a bit of unwashed potato and they were also not very well seasoned. Over all I like the vibe, but I don’t think I would return. Give them a try if you’re close by, maybe you’ll have a better experience than I did.

We love dining at Ellen’s! Comfortable, down-home atmosphere, great service and delicious food! Their brunch and dinner menus are excellent! The chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and sweet potato fries, chicken fried steak with asparagus, and Joe’s macaroni and cheese are amazing, our go-to dinner choices. Friendly servers who are pleasant and upbeat and a great drink menu. Family friendly. We always feel welcome and valued here. Owner is very kind and runs the place well. Very clean, I appreciate that they take safety seriously. Happy to patronize this restaurant.

Great breakfast spot for the family! I had the Pancake Pot Pie and also tried some French Toast and Joe’s Balls. The Pancake Pot Pie was delicious and everything you’d expect it to be. The special maple syrup was really good with everything. French Toast is an easy default and something you can never go wrong with. Joe’s Balls were a little disappointing. They are these small fried balls and I had the blueberry, pesto, and I think the third one was something like cheese and bacon. My favorite was the cheese and bacon, but the table favorite was the pesto. Try them if you want to but they’re in no way necessary to your meal. Server was very nice but spilled a little coffee when setting it down. Atmosphere feels like you’re at a breakfast place. 4 stars all around! I would definitely come again!

We had a tasty breakfast at Ellen’s! I had the Shrimp and Grits it was tasty! However I like my Shrimp and Grits with more of a cajun sauce, it adds more flavor! It was really good though! So glad they have a Ellens on this side of town! Perfect spot!
Update: Always a yummy breakfast here! They have awesome Mimosas as well!

This restaurant boasts a well-coordinated concept and maintains a high standard of cleanliness that I hope remains into the future. I enjoyed the balanced menu options of lunch and breakfast plates and always happy to hear they serve the full menu all day. Perfect for a quiet date, family breakfast or girls brunch in the neighborhood.
