Reviews
I put ketchup on and didn’t get anything else on my burger . My burger tasted like it was pre made frozen burgers fried in grease , even the buns vs a homemade burger .
Half hour later I was sick . I hardly ever eat out. Thought I would try this place and give it business because I hardly ever see anybody in Ella’s kitchen .
NO more !!! I hoping the owner can stay open and I would like to see that even though I won’t be back . someone else might like their food I didn’t. I can’t recommend anything.!!!
That being said, i will still provide my honest review of our experience.
Service/Atmosphere:
Service was wonderful! They were very welcoming, thoughtful, and we felt right at home.
Food:
I had the pasta with shrimp, my husband had the catfish and we both had side salads as well.
While I really appreciate the fact that they make their sauce from scratch, it was a bit too much on the “loose” side for me. I prefer a sauce that clings on rather than drips off, but that could be deemed as personal preference.
There was some sort of slight sweet-ish after taste to the sauce which was off-putting to me. I think if more heavy whipping cream and some parmesan had been whipped in during prep it could have helped out a lot.
I liked that the shrimp seemed to have been sautéed prior to being added to the dish, but instead of a decent quantity, it seemed that they may have opted for a moderate size and cut them all in half. I can completely understand cost may be a factor though.
I didn’t see much in the way of peppers in the sauce, but did have red onion bits (which is nicer than having long limp slices of red onion) and cherry tomatoes which was good. I love some veggie-color in my pasta sauce:)
Over all, we will likely patronize again to support in the future, just not the pasta dish or the fish.
Plus, sounds like they are looking to add some LIVE MUSIC in the near future, so definitely will be back to check that out!
