This coffee shop is beautifully set right on the river, with scenic views and plenty of comfortable seating that invites you to slow down and stay awhile. The interior has a cozy, rustic charm with warm wood floors, natural light, and thoughtfully styled details everywhere you look.
The decor really stands out — shelves lined with their coffee offerings, syrups, and a curated collection of mugs and drinkware that give the space a charming, lived-in feel. It feels more like a welcoming riverside living room than a typical coffee stop.
I ordered a mocha, and the barista suggested mixing dark and white chocolate instead of choosing just one. It was an excellent recommendation — smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced.
Another fun bonus: it’s right next to the world’s biggest oyster, making it a memorable stop whether you’re passing through or exploring South Bend.
Great coffee, friendly staff, beautiful decor, and unbeatable views. Easily worth a visit — and a return.

Amazing coffee shop, i had the avocado toast and a cappucino. The avocado toast was delicous! Great amount of avocado on it. The cappucino tasted very fresh and cozy. The view is also amazing. The surrounding places looked great

This place was SO cute with a cozy vibe. We absolutely loved it. We stopped in for a little quick coffee and ended up staying for a bit. The staff were super helpful and kind. They had a little bit of a gift shop. My daughter is super picky on her matcha, she added some vanilla and loved it. My husband had hazelnut mocha and it was really good too. I had hot chocolate with hazelnut in it, and it was perfect. I’d definitely recommend it and we’d go back again.

Took a friend for tests at the hospital. Had 2 hours to wait so came down for some coffee. Only had one cookie so I can’t really speak to the food, however that cookie was great!
Very relaxed atmosphere with some couches and tables over looking the river. I was able to just kick back and read some and enjoy that cookie with coffee. I’m headed back there on Thursday!

Elixir Cafe is an absolute gem! The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, perfect for studying, catching up with friends, or just enjoying a peaceful coffee break. The staff are always warm and welcoming, and they truly make you feel at home. Every drink I’ve tried has been top-notch — rich, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Lovely open place for sitting and enjoying the view and a coffee and bite to eat. The staff is super sweet and friendly and the music upbeat. The view can’t be beat and the interior and outdoor seating is inviting and lovely. It’s totally worth it to sit at the window and pause fir the view. See if you can sight a cow across the water. Search for a fishing boat and take a guess at what the other buildings along the shoreline are. Anywhere else this view would be very pricy so enjoy!!!
There are cute little local gifts to take home as a little present to yourself or someone close. Tons of parking. next to the historic statue (read the plaque) and dock for a very short leg stretch stroll. No Starbucks in this town! Go local and while the coffee is not the best you have ever had it’s as good as Starbucks.

A coffee stop on a road trip down the coast. The world’s largest oyster across the parking lot was disappointing but the coffee and service were great here. My girlfriend liked it so much we stopped twice on the same trip. I didn’t have any food but the coffee was great and the atmosphere was very laid back and pleasant.
