We had been wanting to Elie’s for a while now and just happened to be in the area on a Friday night. It was early in the evening, so they weren’t super busy yet and there was still space on the patio for dining.
The food and drinks were fantastic!!! I have had Caribbean food this good since I was in Puerto Rico. The staff was super friendly and did an amazing job explaining the menu and telling us about all the specials.
If you’ve never been or are in need of some fantastic Puerto Rican inspired food. I would highly recommend!!! 10 ⭐️’s

If you are in the mood for some delicious Puerto Rican food, come to Elie’s Chinchorro!!! Their set up is vibrant and homey. The menu is simple and authentic, not intimidating to first-timers like me. The server was very nice to help me with my choices and so I enjoyed my food to the last bite. Their mofongo is served on a traditional ‘Pilon’, where the plantain is typically mashed to give it that authentic touch. The sweet plantains were also cooked to perfection!!! Everything was delicious and we will definitely be back!

Such a vibe!!! What a jem of a find on this cold Sunday. My husband and I had a wonderful time in Puerto Rico last Christmas and enjoyed all the lovely food. We have passed by this place many times on our way to or from CHI for an event. Staff was super friendly and attentive while allowing us time to enjoy the food, drinks and company.
I had the grilled chicken Mofongo and my husband had the fried pork Mofongo…. Both were absolutely amazing. The highlight was the contrast of the savory mashed plantains and meat with the light and super flavorful vinegarette (on salad) and the magical chicken broth served along side. Price was right for the flavor, service and amount of food = extra bonus. We tried the flight of seasonal drinks. They were fun and festive, our favorite being the Yuque (like the rainforest) Gin, kiwi, lime & basil. My husband also got a quite delicious Pina colada.

I came to Omaha on a business trip. I seen this place next to Holiday inn hotel. Food was amazing! The staff and atmosphere was great! The owners were having dinner next time humble, welcoming great people. Food was delicious and did not disappoint I highly recommend the skirt steak don’t be confused with the way this is made it’s tender and full of flavors they know how to make this steak cut. The Chimichurri sauce was on point. The passion fruit mojitos was authentic and flavorful made with the best rum from the island Don Q. Pina coladas looked great as well as the fried Pork I will try next time.

First experience and as a Latina myself felt bad about it. The ambiance is nice, and charming. We ordered take out since they were close to closing. The flavors were good a bit heavy on the garlic. My critic is that the food was pretty greasy and it’s 3 times more expensive than in the island. The turnovers had good flavors but way to small for the price. The Cuban sandwich has their own twist and it was pretty good, the fries are cooked in the same oil as everything else, so they tasted like alcapurrias, bacalaitos and everything else. The plantain tacos were a great idea and the flavors were good but very greasy.

Super cute restaurant. But more importantly the food was delicious. Ordered the mofongo with fried chicken (first time trying this dish). The chicken was crispy on the outside but still tender on the inside; the mofongo itself was soo good.
Highly recommend ordering a few different flavors of empanadas, too. My friend and I tried guava-cheese & pizza. Both were wonderful.
Their cocktails are unique and very flavorful. The cocktail flight is a great way to try 4 different drinks for a good price.
Last but not least, the staff were extremely welcoming and provided excellent service.
This may have been my first time there but it won’t be my last!

Elie’s Chinchorro in Omaha is a true hidden gem that brings the warm, vibrant flavors of Puerto Rico straight to the Midwest. From the moment you walk in, the island vibe hits you — the music, the colors, and the friendly smiles instantly make you feel like you’ve stepped into a spot back home on the island.
I started with the alcapurria and relleno de papa, and both were perfectly crispy on the outside and seasoned just right on the inside — you can tell they’re made with love and tradition. For dinner, I had the mofongo with chicharrones de pollo, and it was absolutely spot on: garlicky, rich, and full of that unmistakable Puerto Rican flavor that’s hard to find anywhere else.
The staff was warm and welcoming, happy to chat and make sure everyone felt like family. Elie’s Chinchorro isn’t just a restaurant — it’s an experience. If you’re craving authentic Puerto Rican food and that easygoing island feel, this is the place to be.

Everything was really delicious and servers were nice and helpful. The grilled chicken was amazing and I loved the rice as well. Piña Colada was sweeter than I wanted, but that’s probably just a personal preference thing.
