We have now been here three times over the past couple of years. Twice to celebrate Mardi Gras and one other time during the year – it’s been awesome each time! Food is always delicious. During our most recent visit, we shared super yummy crabcakes. I had blackened catfish over dirty rice that had just enough of a kick. Atmosphere is amazing (they go all out for Mardi Gras, including giving out beads and masks). Staff is friendly. Would highly recommend!

This review is a part of my quest of visiting all CT breweries. This was my first visit to this place.

It has an ample parking in the back. Inside are two rooms, so there is some isolation. Booth seating is available. I love the vibe if this place, it felt like you’re in a punk’s apartment. The food was delicious – we ordered Nashville shrimp and a burger, both were top notch.

There’s a good selection of both local and non-local craft beers. If I were evaluating this place as a pure pub, it would have been solid 5. But this is a quest for breweries. Only 3 of their own beers were available during my visit, and all of them were mediocre at best. But one can still enjoy the rest of the beer menu from other breweries.

If you’re searching for a hangout spot – this place is awesome. But if you’re looking for a pure brewery, then look elsewhere.

EDIT: After speaking with the owner Rocco LaMonica several times via email, about the charge, he suddenly became nasty, accused me of lying and trying to scam him- and began harrassing me. After telling him to not contact me or the police would be called he continued to contact me at which time the police had to calles. PD verified exactly what had happened with the establishment taking extra funds, and it being correct, and had to go speak with LaMonica and tell him to seize contact or it would be would harassment. Absolutely uncalled for and unhinged. Please be aware”

First time here to check out trivia since our usually spot had cancelled. Food was good, the nachos were huge and very good. Drinks were reasonably priced.

Only problem I had is my bill was just under $40, and I was not only charged my bill total, but I was charged a second time for $106. Calling the bar and speaking with a manager minutes after realizing, they’re telling me they didn’t do it, and they had no record of this transaction happening, when they happened at exactly the same minute and second my card was ran by our server. Not very good customer service on their part in this case. I was told to take it up with my bank -which will now take weeks when and if it is refunded. But if not refunded by the bank I will be contacting the bar again. And it should have never have happened in the first place- a ghost charge does not just appear on a customers card when the bank verified the card was tapped for the extra $106. I wish the company handled it differently, possibly personally refunding by card or cash the extra expensive charge that was caused by them. The charge did not drop off as they claimed it would-but finalized, so it was 100 percent a secondary charge on their end.

We were passing through town on a family trip, and my wife & I decided to try this place of the many options downtown. We walked through the front door and had second thoughts as the main entrance dumps you into the (very loud) bar, but once we were seated it was much quieter.

We asked the waitress, Erin, a couple of questions about the menu and she didn’t just answer them, she told us exactly what was in each wing sauce and rub we asked about, and then gave a descriptive flavor profile. It was pretty impressive how clearly knowledgeable she was. We ordered wings and a salad, and the fried pickle and pepper app.

When I say the food exceeded all expectations, that would be an understatement. This place looks almost like a dive, but the food was pure gastropub. The app came on a sheet pan and was easily enough for 4-6 people. The wings were perfectly cooked and flavorful, and the salad was first rate.

Not only would I visit again, I would go out of my way to dine here in the future, because we both regretted being too full to try anything with the house-made corned beef.

And I didn’t even tell you how good the beer was!

This was a nice venue to catch up with friends at. Semi- large venue with a long bar, tables, and booths. The restaurant has a dark atmosphere, friendly staff, and good food bites. From what I saw, there’s only street parking which isn’t very many. We came on a Sunday night, so it wasn’t too busy but busy enough for a lively atmosphere. The food wasn’t bad either, we tried the wings and had some pork belly, would recommend. If I’m ever in the area I might stop on by again.

We celebrated an early Father’s Day with our 14 and 5 year old children. Our server was quite pleasant. The Land Ho burger was on the weekly specials menu, and it was outstanding! The street taco salad was delicious too. My children enjoyed the sliders, chicken tenders, fries, and tater tots. The unique environment only made our experience that much better.

This was my first visit to Eli Cannon’s Tap Room. The service was friendly and attentive, and I really appreciated the unique atmosphere—lots of character with Edison bulbs and vintage movie posters decorating the space. That said, the experience was a bit of a mixed bag. Unfortunately, the fish and chips were overcooked to the point of being tough and difficult to enjoy, and others at my table had similar feedback about their meals. The dining area was also quite humid, which made things a bit uncomfortable during our stay. While there were some high points, the overall experience didn’t quite hit the mark for me, so I likely won’t be returning.

This will forever be my favorite bar in Middletown because of the atmosphere, tune selection, variety of beers & friendly staff. Nashville wings are 10/10. Really great flavor and perfect amount of spice – the best wings in Middletown in my opinion. I also LOVE the spicy Caesar salad & I hope they never take it off the menu. Service is excellent, it always makes my night to see Eddie behind the bar!!

Had a fantastic lunch with my family! Food was delicious and our waiter was friendly. The Tap list had many nice options. I really enjoyed my meal and beer. I’m kinda surprised they don’t offer a kids menu but my kids enjoyed the chicken tenders from the appetizer section, and we added on fries !

Overall good first experience. Pulled Buffalo chicken nachos were tasty and had a nice kick to them. Two in a pool wings were pretty good – nice flavor and also a good spice to them. Family had the blackened salmon, chicken salad melt, and garlic parm tenders. Wings 7/10.
