Stopped here on the way from WI to Chicago food was amazing! Highly recommend the fried pickles (best I’ve ever had) and the build your own Burger and Haystack were delicious. Service was fast and very attentive. Would definitely come back!

They have top tier fried pickles, great flavor and fry batter. Tried the SotD, black bean with feta-was awesome. Also had the grilled cheese and tots, tots were great!! We took a salad to go that also looked amazing

Well, it wasnt at all busy when we first came in but we did have to wait 15 minutes just to have our drink orders taken an additional 5 till we finally started getting our appetizer we ordered. Mind you the appetizer came first before our drinks, and this was going to be a bad review but the saving grace itself was the food! The reuben sandwhich was THICK and it was HOT like HOTHOT on good thick marble rye and it paired well with the dreaming tree chardonnay! I got the mac and cheese topped with pork belly and mushroom and they sautéed the mushrooms to perfection and that pork belly was INCREDIBLE! The meat was very well seasoned, which I think the chef did on purpose to showcase the flavors which, he defenitely nailed! I got the mac and cheese paired with the Washington mule and it was delicious! Pictures did not do justice to the flavors! Thank you chef!

Your chefs are a godsend and assets to your team! – your serving staff needs some direction.
When we arrived, the restaurant was empty except for two people at the bar and one table of about eight people. The host warmly greeted and seated us immediately.
We looked at the menu and knew exactly what we wanted in about five minutes. Another five minutes pass and a server still hadn’t come to greet us or take our drink order.
We continued to be patient and waited to be noticed. Another five minutes pass. At the 15minute mark, I get up, find the host and inform her that we still have not been greeted by a server.
Momentarily, a server came and greeted us – we put in our drink and appetizer order.
She didn’t write our order down when we gave it but then came back five minutes later to confirm a detail. I’m all for being suave and taking an order by memory, but at least have the expertise to carry through with it and not double back for a reminder.
Our appetizer arrived about ten minutes later. . . before our two drinks.
Simply acknowledging us and letting us know of any setback that may have been happening in the kitchen would have worked wonders with us. Communication with your customers is key.
As for the food.
It was beyond delicious and was a major redeeming quality of our experience here. The amazing quality of the food is what turned this would-have-been one star review to a four star review. The meal was perfect.
We ordered the Wisconsin cheese curds as our appetizer, which came out hot and were very tasty and provided a very impressive cheese pull! I ordered the Reuben with Cajun fries and a side of ranch paired with the Dreaming Tree Chard. My sandwich was bursting with perfectly tender and seasoned corned beef and sauerkraut. One of the best Reuben sandwiches I’ve ever had!
My friend ordered the Washington Mule with her mac & cheese entree to which she added sautéed mushrooms and pork belly. The mac & cheese was absolutely divine and sported a very homemade, from-scratch flavor. The addition of the tender and flavorful pork belly and earthy mushrooms into the Mac leveled it up incredibly! The Washington Mule wasn’t for the faint of heart – your bartender knows how to make a very good drink!
I would like to give a big thank you and shout out to your wonderful and talented chef(s). Whatever you’re doing, keep doing it! I hope you get the appreciation and recognition you deserve.

We came here for a quick bite. Things were very fast, which was great. The bartender was also the waitress and hostess. She was very nice, but overwhelmed (not her fault). My issue was the food. My tacos came out ice cold. My friend got the burger, and the sauce and ingredients overwhelmed the burger. The bun disintegrated and was not good. I ordered 2 kids meals, they did not have grape jelly for the PB&J. The bread was also stale. The chicken tenders were not good at all. They were dry, the breading was also bad. It took so long for me to get the waitress/bartender to notice me that I just didn’t want to wait for something else. Might have just been a bad day, but we paid almost $100 for poor quality food.

I absolutely adore this place. It was one of the best burgers I’ve ever had also and I love that it was an actual recommendation from the bartender because I was seated at the bar she actually had a conversation with me and made recommendations That’s how you can always tell when the food is really good when the staff is partial to something is because they know. I love the fact that they offer games for you to play seated at your table little board games so cute and such a great environment so staff was on point food was on point and the atmosphere also on point definitely check this place out

I was in Elgin and had an hour to kill, so I looked online for somewhere nearby to grab some lunch and saw The Elgin Public House.
I was greeted warmly at the door by Keri who served me. The build your own burger was fantastic, as were the fries.
Very comfortable atmosphere, and excellent service. If I find myself that way again I will definitely stop back in.
