Elevator has been open at 161 North High Street for over twenty years but did you know that the building has played host to great food and cold drinks since it was finished in 1897? Today, we uphold the history and craftsmanship of the space reflected in our fresh, seasonal menu and our expansive beverage program, which includes not only beers brewed on-site but in house made draft cocktails and sodas.
Historic, wood-trimmed pub with an on-site brewery & a menu of surf ‘n’ turf & other American fare.

All dishes were scrumptious and plating was great, a pleasant surprise.
Poutine fries were awesome, uniquely had braised beef on it and it was delicious, should’ve ordered two.
Walleye was grilled perfectly, GF and tasty with salsa that was fresh, Asparagus not overcooked, crispy and perfect.
Crabcakes also very good with a sweet/ tropical hint to it but a wondeful moist cake with a crisp outer layer.
Burger cooked perfectly as requested, veggies crisp and fresh. Fries were evenly shaved and had a blend of crunchy and soft to satisfy all fry lovers.
Almond crusted chicken salad was incredible, large, large portion of chicken and the almond crust was amazing.
Steaks were cooked perfectly, great texture, never dry, with complimentary sauces and glaze pairings.
Bread pudding was delicious, cinnamon swirls and breading went well with the ice cream.
Staff was great, friendly and attentive, they were happy to answer questions about the building. The atmosphere/building is historic, old but updated, and clean and just amazing. From the stain glass window, to the mosaic flooring, to the etched bar, this is a vibe.
Buon Appetito, Piatto Pulito
Worth the trip for the history and the vibes. Also, prices are fair on most stuff. $40 for a ribeye, with veggies, and potatoes is cool.
I started with Baked Brie- it was good wouldn’t say it was amazing or I would order again. Just wasn’t for me!
First course I had a wedge salad- delish and clue what their dressing is but I loved it.
Third course was an Elevator Club- 10/10 so great! Very filling and huge, side of mashed potatoes that was outstanding good. I didn’t even use salt and pepper oddly enough. I’ll probably order another one sometime this week to go lol.
Dessert was carrot cake, again another delicious dessert! Flavors is there! Larger then I expected but given the price point it was prefect size. However I would order without the berry/purple sauce that comes on and I would ask for them warm it some before receiving it. Maybe order around entree time and let it sit under heat lamp. Cold cake is the worst, in my opinion of course!
The only thing I would say needs work on is the speed of drinks, had a very long time for both rounds of cocktails. Other then that thanks for an wonderful experience! You rock Steve and good luck here in Columbus!
