Reviewing all scotch eggs in the area so the food rating is only for that item. It’s full of various flavors, as a scotch egg with a sauce typically is. The casing had an Italian vibe which is unique but not authentic, slight ding there. The fried casing flexed and had no crunch, cheapens it, ding there. Mustard is delicious and egg consistency is ideal. Will you like it? Absolutely. If I took authenticity out of the equation, it’s a 4 star.

Stopped here after the Bears/Rams game for a bite. I was seated fast by a friendly host. The place has a cool ambience and was perfect for watching the snow come down as I was seated at a window. I had the hummus and the fish and chips. Both were so so good!!! Tartar was perfect as was the fish and slaw. Will definitely eat here again when I come back!

The fish and chips won me here! Crispy and you actually get fish instead of heavy breading. The fries were great too. I normally don’t eat tartar sauce but this one was good.

This was a great mid afternoon stop for me and my family… My daughter‘s absolutely loved the chicken pot pie. It looked fresh and homemade… Something you’d have at your grandma‘s house… I had the butter chicken… My wife had the fish and chips… Each were very tasty and plentiful… A great great stop lots of flavor… The staff was warm and friendly, and the setting is just awesome…

I had a great experience at Elephant & Castle. The service was very quick and efficient, and our waiter was exceptional — he recommended everything we ordered, and each pick was spot-on.

I started with the Bees and Knees cocktail, which was delicious. We shared the Brussels sprouts appetizer (without prosciutto), and it was a definite hit. I also enjoyed the salad that came with the Baja fish tacos. I’m not usually a fan of soft-shell tacos, but I appreciated that they toasted the shells — it made all the difference.

The Bears game was on (and we won!), which added to the lively, upbeat vibe in the restaurant.

For dessert, I tried the bread pudding. The flavor was nice, but it was a bit too thick for my taste. I cut it in half and asked for extra sauce, which helped.

Overall, great food, great service, and a fun atmosphere. I’d definitely come back!

winter. very cold. friday. walking a lot. we are hungry. the hostess said there was a 45 min wait. it was a little embarrassing (she was embarrassed) because there were a lot of empty tables everywhere.

we took the chance. they texted us and we were seated within ten minutes.

the fish and chips made my kid super happy he ate it all and he loved the chips he ate all of that too! i see reviews saying the portions were small, but this was a sizable, respectable piece of haddock. it was substantial. i had fish tacos and i loved them. the salad with it was also delicious. and we shared this brownie. holy cow. YUM! i’m glad we stuck around. maybe they try to get folks to drink at the bar before their meal? not sure. maybe the host and the wait staff are on different tracks. my kid will want to eat here again. i’m down.

Fish and chips were great. Portion was a little small on the fish. But they give option for 2nd filet. Beer selection was good and nicely chilled. Had a Boddingtons which I haven’t been able to get in a while. Bartender was fantastic keeping my water filled.

Overall, it’s a decent place for a drink or a casual hangout, especially with the friendly service and nice vibe. But if you’re going for the food, you might want to look elsewhere. the food was a letdown. It didn’t taste fresh at all, and much of it gave the impression of being reheated from frozen. The texture and flavor just weren’t there, and it lacked the quality you’d hope for in a dine-in experience. It’s disappointing when a meal feels more like something out of a microwave than a kitchen.

Arianna the bartender is very personable. I was in at lunch. Didn’t eat this time, but have before (shepherd pie YUMMM!) She had a big party plus people at the bar and it didn’t phase her at all. Hosts were nice too! I’m in this biz and I would hire them all!
