Love the food. Most of the staff are friendly. I sometimes feel they are off-put by my disability, but they are always helpful. Im a smiler…so I am confused when people don’t smile back. That’s not to say they aren’t attentive because the service is excellent. We like the quiet and fine dining atmosphere. They’re fried rice is light and seems healthier than most. I recently had shrimp & snowpeas and the shrimp were huge and cooked to perfection with bright fresh snowpeas in a light and tasty sauce. I brought friends along who raved about the food as well who leave a good bit away, but want to come back more often. Since I live very near the location, I am wont to go more often nowadays too. I must add that The sushi is yummy also. 2 thumbs up

Nice atmosphere, good wait staff. I ordered the shrimp and mango stir fry. The dish was not what I was expecting. It was listed as a stir fry, but it came out with a lot of sauce. Although it was described as having mango in the dish, I did not expect copious amounts of sweet sauce. This could be improved by adding a more balanced sauce to complement the sweetness of the mango. As it was, the sweetness was overpowering. The shrimp also had a pungent aftertaste. Definitely would not recommend this dish.

I had my 21st birthday at Elena Wu, I’m 29 now. I also moved to California from South Jersey. I’m currently visiting home for a week. Elena wu has always been my go to & favorite Chinese food for years. However today 3/3/26, between the hours of 1:45pm-2:45pm I placed a take out order of sesame chicken and a kani salad. The older front desk woman at the restaurant with orange blonde copper hair, was so dismissive and unwelcoming to my mother. My parents have also been eating at Elena wu for years with me. This OLDER orange blonde copper hair Asian woman made my mother feel dumb and stated “if the chicken is extra crispy the sesame sauce HAS to be on the side.” “If you want to order the kani salad it has to be spicy or NOT spicy.” My mother is a physician, went to medical school in the Philippines, my mother is a doctor. This orange blonde copper hair Asian woman spoke to my mother as if my mother is not educated and is not able to articulate or comprehend statements. I actually recently had lunch with my best friend at Elena Wu on 2/28 and I had a great experience, the tall male server was friendly and I also ordered EXTRA crispy sesame chicken with no issue. But today, this orange blonde copper hair Asian woman was rude and not pleasant. It took 30+ min for the sesame chicken and kani salad which I understand. But this orange blonde copper hair Asian woman wasn’t even personable, did not give us updates of when the food would be ready. When the orange blonde copper hair Asian woman came out with take out orders for other people and my mother stood up this orange blonde copper hair Asian woman would only say “this is not your order.” Obviously it’s not our order but can you have a personality and acknowledge us to kindly provide updates for my 2 items without staring at us with an unwelcoming look? Thanks, maybe this orange blonde copper hair Asian woman should smile more.

Dined here for the first time last October, I called before coming to make reservations and the lady who answered the phone was kind of rude. I asked if reservations are needed and she asked for how many people and she was like “just come”, I was not sure I heard her right so I said I’m sorry, which annoyed her that she had to repeat herself. When we arrived, she said you’re the one who called. The place only had 1 group of 4 people dining but guess where we she sat us… at the very back tight corner beside the vacuum and cleaning supplies. I was with my elderly parents and they had a hard time getting in that tiny space. Another group came in and they were sat nicely in the front. Not sure why that host treated us thay way. Our server was the kindest and sweetest lady though, food and presentation was ok too but that host not sure if she was the owner just ruined it for me.

Service truly matters! I ordered take out here tonight. The lady on the other end of the phone was not personable her tone dry and emotionless. Almost like- she would rather be doing anything else but what she was doing in that moment. My other half and family members have dined there on several occasions, and for the most part, there were no real issues with service. However- for me personally-it does not matter how great the food May be, if the service does not match the product- I will not continue feeding my hard earned money into the growth of your establishment. There are too many other options in the area to choose from.

The best Chinese food in South Jersey! Every dish was packed with flavor, without the artificial taste of MSG that you often find at other places. The soups, hot & sour, wonton and cream were all amazing. The Beef Chow Fun, Bok Choy, and Tofu were all outstanding, and to top it off, we even got complimentary fresh pineapple for dessert. The homemade hot oil sauce was hands down the best I’ve ever had. Plus, the service was attentive and made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend!
We went back again and tried some of the same dishes, along with sushi—Spicy Girl and Dragon Roll. Both were delicious!
Went back and had more of the same and also tried their sushi: Spicy Girl and Dragon Roll. Both were very good!

We had the misfortune of having Frankie as our server. We ordered a salmon sushi roll that did not look nor taste appetizing and appeared old. After informing Frankie, he became upset and proceeded to ignore us until I asked another server for our bill. I haven’t experienced such terrible customer service in a long time and can’t help but wonder if they treat all their customers this way or certain demographics. I certainly will not be returning and do not recommend this establishment.

I haven’t eaten Chinese food in years due a a celiac diagnosis. However… someone told me Elena Wu had GF options. I tried it and I’m hooked. I’ve already been back a second time and it’s an hour away from me! Great food, great service. Can’t wait to go again.
