Beautiful venue! Waitress was attentive. Food was overpriced for what was served. Plates were cold so our food was not as warm as we expected. Mushroom soup was absolutely delicious! I had the stuffed haddock, which was not stuffed but about 3-4 tablespoons on top of a haddock filet. Mashed potatoes had no flavor and not very warm. The vegetable was squash and that was absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection and had a wonderful flavor. The chicken milanese was okay, nothing special. Both our mashed potatoes could have been served warmer.

The atmosphere inside is incredible no matter where you sit. The porch offers views of the surrounding farm, the dinning room seats you next to a real wood burning fireplace.
The fall pasta is my favorite on the menu right now. The Charles Dickens Christmas Dinner is much fun, though I feel like they put their heart into the meats more than the vegetable option (which is their risotto so I was disappointed when it was a bit crunchy).
All in all we will definitely return when we have another special occasion to celebrate. Definitely worth the drive out from the city.

We love Elderberry Pond! The food is always fresh and beautifully prepared, with vegetables straight from their own farm. The atmosphere is warm, peaceful, and perfectly suited for a relaxed meal. A true local gem, consistently delicious and worth the visit every time.

Our first time visiting this restaurant and we are very impressed with the menu and quality of food. Yes, truly farm fresh to table to serve a tasty food. We have a Thai pizza and the shrimp appetizers with a flavored dressing that makes a big difference when you put a kale salad together.

I am a longtime restaurant owner and always appreciate creative food and outstanding service. I was treated to that recently at Elderberry Pond. The old farmhouse is beautifully decorated. We (my adult daughter and I) were shown to our table by (I think) the owner where our friends were waiting. Michelle was our waitress, and I knew that it would be an outstanding evening by her greeting to us and by her presentation of the nightly specials. She listed and explained the long list as if she was reading from a prompter. It was all very impressive. She was/is very impressive! I had one of the specials – lobster ravioli. The sauce was outstanding, and the ravioli were topped with lobster, still in their shells – again very impressive. My daughter had crab cakes (which she said were almost as good as mine) and one of our friends had the special rib eye that fell off the plate. The mark of a good (fine dining) restaurant is when dirty dishes are immediately removed, and water glasses are always filled. That was the case here, and the restaurant was busy. The Skaneateles area is known for several world class restaurants – Elderberry Pond is certainly on that list.

In the past, it was sometimes hard for me to find a dish on the menu that I wanted to order. (However, see UPDATE-2 below.) But, the special prix fixe turkey dinner they serve around the Thanksgiving holiday is pretty good. Their flourless chocolate tart is excellent, as is the service. UPDATE-1: It’s been four years since we last visited this restaurant. The special turkey dinner has lost a bit in quality. Instead of turkey carved from the breast, it was sliced from a boneless turkey roll. However, the flourless chocolate tart, mushroom soup, ambience and service are very good. UPDATE-2: Their menu appears much improved. I enjoyed the shrimp in cajun tomato cream sauce over penne pasta. I requested the dish extra spicy with extra sauce and the chef kindly complied. As a starter, the tomato basil soup was delicious and had a nice subtle kick of heat. My wife enjoyed the curry chicken soup and the mushroom risotto with vegetables. The blueberry lemon cake was a nice way to end the meal. UPDATE-3: Returned for the turkey dinner special that is offered in December. This time the turkey was carved from the bone and not from a roll. Excellent meal. I tried the creme brulee for dessert. It was good, but could have used more flavor in the custard. UPDATE-4: Had an outstanding Easter dinner at the restaurant. Although traditional ham was on the menu, I chose the shrimp scampi over rigatoni and my wife chose the vegetable risotto. Both dishes were delicious. For dessert my wife chose the lemon cake, this time with raspberry sauce, and I tried something new, coconut cream pie. Both were a good way to end a great meal. UPDATE-5: Visited again for their Dicken’s holiday dinner. I repeated my selection of tomato basil soup, shrimp scampi (which this time came with delicious delicata squash), and flourless chocolate cake. My wife ordered the lobster ravioli which included a small lobster tail. Great dinner.

Amazing! The entire experience was one I’d like to repeat often. Food, service, atmosphere it’s all there and then some. I don’t usually eat scallops out. These were done to perfection. We come from Bristol. Well worth the trip.

Delicious, fresh, fresh, vegetables, atmosphere perfect, outside setting beautiful, service was great. The hummus was delicious. I preferred it with the fresh bread and vegetables. I found the pita bread too toasted (hard) for my taste. The cherry tomatoes were the best I’ve ever tasted. Repeat visit required on our next trip to the area.

Pretty, simple and early American style farmhouse overlooking the tranquil fields between Auburn and Skaneatales serves sophisticated, new American cuisine with the freshest ingredients. (The family’s farm stand opens nearby in summer so they know fresh … ) We loved our delicately spiced duck and crab-stuffed haddock dishes with perfectly cooked asparagus! Had a yummy house made pizza with artichoke hearts to start. Our wait person recommended the Thirsty Owl Riesling to pair with them, great choice. Desserts sounded amazing but we could not eat any more!!

Nice atmosphere and great service. Menu is limited but food is fresh and of good quality. I got the chicken a bit bland but the veggie was also fresh and delicious. Lots of dessert options. The three of us shared and all were amazing. I go back for the dessert alone.
