Colombia en la casa!
Absolutely amazing, 12/10.
Went to try the New york location, during restaurant week, even though it was in “El Bistró” which is a more relaxed option restaurant inside el Cielo, was a pleasant visit.

Dishes created with this Michelin star stamp, from the appetizer to the dessert.
The tree of life is a must, is innovative and so well sculpted, the taste really reminds me home.

The cocktails are named as “people names” I would really recommend “Dona Gloria” very well crafted and delicious cocktail.

And I need to also highlight the delicate and spectacular service from Antonio, who was such a great host together with Esteban, they made our night so special and delightful.

I’m sorry to see that some people had negative experiences, but starting in a demanding city like New York can be challenging. I can see the team is continuously working to improve the experience.

When to go: special occasion, date ❤️ or when someone is visiting New York and you want to take them to a very nice place.

Would be back and I recommend this place.

El Cielo was absolutely wonderful. It was quite the experience with 15 dishes and wine pairing add-on journey. The pacing of the dishes was well thought out. The wines were also carefully selected to accompany the dishes served. It truly felt like a culinary journey. The service was top-tier. Everyone that came to our table was fantastic. Echo, I believe was his name, was amazing. Very engaging with each of us and every table around us. Our sommelier created a wonderful wine experience and educated us through the wines he presented. The food was delicious, most dishes definitely had the Colombian influence. My personal favorites were the tree of life, soursop, which they graciously substituted because of dietary restrictions, and the golden berries. We also enjoyed the choco therapy and the exfoliation that followed.
Overall, it was a great experience.

The restaurant is located on the 4th floor inside of the Virgin hotel.

My husband took me to celebrate Valentine’s Day, and it was truly a unique experience. From the very first bite of the buñuelo trufado, we knew it was something special. It immediately made us want to try everything on the menu.

The textures and the combination of flavors were incredible—each dish felt thoughtful and perfectly balanced. The service was also excellent; everyone was attentive and made us feel very welcomed throughout the evening.

We left feeling completely satisfied and already excited to come back. And of course, the pan de yuca was one of our absolute favorites.

The atmosphere at El Cielo is warm and inviting, and the staff could not have been kinder. Their attentiveness and genuine friendliness made the evening truly special. The food was absolutely delicious, every dish was prepared with great care, and you can feel the love and dedication behind the service.

For a restaurant that is still so new in NYC, it is already beautifully put together. The team works with so much heart and shows a clear eagerness to keep learning and perfecting what they do.

I visited to celebrate my fiancé’s birthday, we had the full experience, (he is a private chef), and it was a joy to introduce him to Colombian flavors presented with such refinement and good taste. He left very happy and impressed, which made the experience even more meaningful.

Overall, it was a wonderful evening and an experience we will definitely remember.

We had the most incredible time at El Cielo. My husband and I are both from Colombia, and we chose to celebrate my graduation there; it felt so meaningful and special. Everything was absolutely stunning: the space, the experience, the flavors. The food is truly out of this world. We love the one in El Cielo Bogotá, but this one somehow takes it to another level.

I recently visited EL Cielo, a modern fine dining restaurant in New York City, for my birthday, and it was an amazing experience. The food was phenomenal wonderful flavors and textures blended harmoniously. The tuna tartare was a highlight, and the entrees were equally delicious, with rich, well-balanced flavors. The guava was juicy and tender, pairing perfectly with the ribs. The mocktails were delightful, with distinct and harmonious flavors. The chicken was exceptional the herbs were well-blended, and the chicken was juicy and flavorful. The famous house ceviche was also a standout sweet, crunchy, savory, and with perfect texture. A big shoutout to our server, Esteban, whose hospitality was impeccable—he made us feel welcome and valued throughout the evening. He even helped us connect with the chef. As a special touch, they offered a dessert on the house for my birthday. I highly recommend Cielo for anyone seeking a top-notch dining experience in New York City.

Exceptional service. I visited last Friday with my family of nine, and despite not having a reservation for that many guests, the staff was extremely accommodating. Half our party showed up late, and the staff was still trying to work with us on this matter.

We chose the ‘Journey’ experience. Yes, it is on the pricier side, but the staff made us feel truly welcomed. Each plate was vibrant, fresh, and left us eager for the next. By the eighth course, we were completely full. The attention to detail was impeccable, and the service overall was exceptional! Absolutely worth the splurge.

The only criticism my family and I have is that the chef, who appears to also be the owner, did not stop by our table. The restaurant has only been open for a couple of weeks, and we were told by the staff that, as a larger table, we would be greeted personally. As Colombians and enthusiasts of our culture’s cuisine, we were excited to share our appreciation directly. Unfortunately, while we noticed the chef visiting other tables, he never came to ours. This felt dismissive, especially since we were paying for a premium experience at a new establishment.

When opening a new restaurant, it’s important to connect with your guests, especially those who are passionate about the food you’re serving and want to support your growth. A simple greeting or acknowledgment from the chef would have gone a long way.

If you’re looking for haute cuisine, Michelin star level version of Colombian food, this is your place. It’s not just the food but also the storytelling, the inspiration behind every course, the outstanding service, and the amazing atmosphere. Definitely an experience to have on special occasions or if you just want to treat yourself. Price wise it is on higher end of the spectrum but absolutely worth it.

The food was OK, average for a high and Restaurant with guided menu, we asked for single meds options and they offered a Johnny Walker black label which is a blend Coma also we didn’t order the wine pairing, but wanted a glass of wine and all wear above $50 the glass for average wines we ended up ordering a bottle which was average price around $130 so the wine by the glass prices made no sense. The atmosphere was good. They have a good playlist.

El Cielo Bistro NYC in the Virgin Hotel. The an exceptional dining experience from start to finish. The ambiance is warm, inviting, and beautifully curated, setting the tone for a memorable evening. Every dish is thoughtfully crafted – truly a work of art on the plate. We especially loved the bee-wax aged rib eye steak, which was outstanding, the rich and comforting onion soup was amazing! The halibut and pork slider were delicious. Each bite showcased creativity and refined technique. We can’t wait to return and explore more of their exquisite menu.
