I had a pleasant experience at Elai; the restaurant has a fantastic vibe and the ambience is top-notch. They offer a large selection of both veg and non-veg Kerala dishes, and the portion sizes are quite generous. We tried the fish curry, chicken kottu, and dosa—everything tasted ‘good,’ but it wasn’t quite as satisfying or authentic as I was hoping for. It felt like it was missing those true, bold Kerala flavors. We finished with the filter coffee, which was unfortunately a bit disappointing and didn’t hit the mark for a traditional South Indian brew. A great spot for a nice dine out, but seasoned fans of the cuisine might find the authenticity a little lacking.

The food was very tasty. The old man who seated us (maybe an owner) was not very helpful. We had a lot of questions, but he seemed not to want to talk. I wanted something traditional, but it was sold out. The menu didn’t say that it wasn’t available, and I was disappointed. The real server came when we had already finished our food; he was a very nice guy.

Found this place for my mum’s birthday, really nice looking place. Decor is minimal and gives us nice Kerela vibes. Staff were very friendly and answered our questions and gave us suggestions. Food was really nice, enjoyed the Kerela Parotta, super flaky and nice really good with chicken curry and prawn one too. Chilli chicken starter was tasty, ordered chicken lollipop was slightly disappointed as it was not how they are usually done but still enjoyed it. Masala Dosa was good, not the best but we’ve been places who specialise so comparison isn’t fair. Fried Pakora was really tasty with the Mint Sauce.
Filter coffee is banging and a nice touch to end the meal. Enjoyed it and a nice experience would come back again.

Ordered a chicken dum biriyani, the biriyani had no spices, no salt, just onion and tomato, it’s just a low quality rice mixed with chicken. Such a shame to authentic Kerala Restaurants. Please don’t go here to be disappointed, unless they are ready to change. Absolute disaster.

Beautiful place to enjoy authentic Indian food. My friend and I visited Elai Restaurant, and we had Chicken Tikka, Chicken Biryani, Paratha, and I requested the Chef’s Special Mutton Curry – it was truly mouth-watering and incredibly tasty.
A special thanks to Head Chef Kanakaraj and the entire team for delivering such wonderful flavours.
The service was absolutely amazing – warm smiles, great customer care, and genuine hospitality.
We will definitely come again. Wishing everyone a Happy Christmas and a wonderful New Year!

Absolutely delicious dining experience. Had heard positive things and everything true! Beautiful atmosphere food perfectly cooked and nicely presented. The flavors and sizes spot on. Real authentic kochi food and and cocktails! Amazing service the guys are so friendly and welcoming will definitely come back for more! Been craving good home cooked Indian food and definitely found it, with such good pricing! Thank you!

Had a lovely meal here and decided to come back a couple of days later. Food was delicious both times – so flavoursome without being overpowering or excessively spicy and different menu options. Service was excellent with very friendly staff who welcomed us back like old friends on our second visit. Would highly recommend a visit here.

First visit to the newly opened South Indian restaurant Elai.
Upon walking in, we were met by a very welcoming host. The feel in the restaurant is intimate, but with a very family-friendly vibe. Whether it’s a romantic meal or a family/friends gathering, they will cater for all.
On to the food… the menu has a wonderful variety of a traditional take on South Indian cuisine, unlike any other in salisbury. The host, gave us a great introduction to what they offer and made some great recommendations, come here and try something new, and different!
Presentation, service, flavours and atmosphere were perfect on the night. Food sits at a great price point as well.
