El Zarape (or El Z as the cool kids call it) isn’t just dinner — it’s a vibe. From the stunning tequila bottle displays to the neon wall that tells you you’re the salsa to its taco (blushing, thank you), this place knows how to serve ambiance alongside the entrées.
We started with chips and salsa that were so good I briefly considered canceling my actual meal and just going full-basket mode. Thankfully, I didn’t — because the fajitas? Absolute showstopper. Tender, juicy, loaded with flavor and grilled veggies, and served sizzling hot like they were fresh out of a telenovela plot twist.
The portions are generous, the plating is beautiful, and the service? Warm, welcoming, and fast without feeling rushed. The menu has all the classics (enchiladas, tacos, soups, mid-day combos), plus a thoughtfully crafted margarita and cocktail list for those who like their lime with a little tequila and their tequila with a lot of flair.
Whether you’re there for date night, family lunch, or just because it’s Tuesday and you deserve joy — El Zarape delivers.
Down right amazing soups and the taquitos were splendid. Added, the sauce had a kick and the location pleases everyone with a low music level, allowing for easy conversations and friendly times.
The food is good, but i need to stop trying the shrimp burrito, hoping it will get better. The problem is that the shrimp ate really nice, but the burrito is filled with a ton of rice. I’ve had other, better meals there, so maybe the plan should be trying other things.
We’ll be keeping the new location in our Mexican rotation for dinner.
Chips and salsa came right out. Chips were great as was the salsa. Heavy on fresh cut tomatoes, the salsa delivered great taste with a bit of spice and heat.
I asked for suggestions from the server, who provided insight on food and drinks. I went for the top shelf with the Zarape Grand Margarita and was pleased. A bit more $ but could identify flavor and pour, as where the money went.
Food came out very quickly. I had the Shrimp Enchiladas, rice and beans. With a hint of orange in the sauce, I really enjoyed them. Rice was tasty and good refried beans. Burrito Mojado (chicken), carne asada tacos, ordered across the table, all delivered and enjoyable meal.
Full bar
Good number of tables. Wasn’t busy at 1:30~ish when we went. I can see it being busy at times, given the area, and see in other reviews that impacted the experience.
Server said they were still in a soft opening. Other reviews talked about their “old full menu” and it that was stated that will return (no ETA).
I will return to eat again.
Maybe it’s pricier than another regular spot of mine, Mario’s. The food quality is higher, as is the atmosphere and service, so also being closer to me, that balances the $$$.
