We’ve been going to this place for years now. I just met my brother there this morning for breakfast (and tequila + OJ [they don’t have grenadine]). The breakfast was AMAZING!!! Nino had the menudo (plenty of tripe). You could tell it was slow cooked with patas because of how tender the tripe was and the depth of flavor and stickiness only patas can add. I had the bistec a la Mexican con juevos and it blew my mind how tasty it was. And let’s be serious, not all beans are created equal. These beans were definitely a step above. And that’s coming from a lifelong bean addict. Last, but definitely not least, the flour tortillas are made in house and were just better. Better than most any tortillas you will find in Denver outside of your jefita’s kitchen.
Pricing was definitely on the affordable side with the breakfasts between $10-$14. Ask for Claudia. She definitely hooked it up.

Great little dive feeling Mexican restaurant. Got the smothered chorizo burritos for lunch. Great portions and it was really quick from order to plates on our table. If you want something authentic and quick I highly recommend this place near the CDOT office.

Really enjoyed the food and hospitality at El Zarape. Tried the molcajete and really enjoyed it. Can’t express how nice the staff was to us when we were dining. Really enjoyed the experience and won’t forget ducking in here on a stormy night to be treated so warmly by the staff and filled with the delicious food.

Really nice and wonderful people with the family owned business type feeling and environment, and it shows in the food! Easy access off of federal as well. I had the smothered burrito, top tier.

First timers. My wife and were looking for some food along Feds. Sunday before a Broncos game and decided to check it out. Blown away. Great food. Great service. Authentic food and giant portions. The prices were surprisingly reasonable. We will definitely be back.

This place is a must for authentic Hispanic food. Hit them up prior to a Broncos game.

Smothered burrito did not disappoint. The asada was delicious. Not a lot of room inside the restaurant, which is pretty utilitarian. Honestly, that just makes it feel like comfortable and unpretentious. Definitely top five Denver burrito for sure.

Incredibly disappointing. I don’t know what’s happened in the last 2 months, but prices have rised and quality severely fallen. Ive been coming here for YEARS and was never unhappy enough to not come back even though sometimes it wasn’t the best.. I just spent $60 with a very generous tip and received absolute garbage. The ENTIRE burrito (all 4 of them) are completely and totally all shell. Take a look at the pics for yourself- and its been this way the last 3 times we’ve come here. I called and spoke to Veronica and all she was willing to do was have me drive all the way back there and she’ll make me new ones…at 745p. Nothing else. Seriously just lost two of your best customers. If I were you I’d hit up literally any of the other Mexican food joints up and down federal and avoid this place.

We’ve eaten here a few times – the food & drinks are consistently delicious! I also love the variety on the menu.
They specialize in carnitas btw!

I love this place so much. The service is great. The food is AUTHENTIC (and amazing). I’ve been here 47 times and there was never a bad experience. This is probably one of the best hidden gems here in Denver. I love the Steak Burritos (with crunchy Chicarone) and the price is so affordable.
