I ordered the chicken and cheese pupsa plate with rice and beans. I’m not typically a rice fan, but this rice had lots of flavor! The beans weren’t dry and pasty like most places. I forgot to take a picture when our plates first came out, but I did take one lol

We ordered tacos and chicken papusas. The chicken taco was good the beef was okay. The papusas were very bland but it was our first time trying it so maybe that’s how it is made.

The food was delicious. Highly recommend. The pricing is reasonable. Seems to be a small business and don’t expect fancy decor. However, if you are looking for a good meal at a decent price, this is it! If you have never had a pupusa go gere and try them. I prefer corn based but they have rice flour as well.

First time trying El Viroleno was through GrubHub — but it’s not going to be the last! A bit of a hidden gem that I’m going to have to try again for sure! I had the bean and cheese pupusas, which were smaller but comparably flavored to a Salvadorean restaurant in PA. I’m definitely going to be coming back again!

The restaurant had such an off putting smell when we walked in. The coke tasted like pepper. Chips and salsa was decent. Nothing appealed to me after the smell and coke so I only had the plantains ($10). There were 5 little pieces on a large plate but with half the plate covered in sour cream and half in beans. My husband got the chicken fajitas and they didn’t bring tortillas as advertised. When we asked about it, the waitress said, ‘You want them??’ When she brought them they were corn tortillas and so the fajitas weren’t that great for him. The beans were too soupy for him. We were also the only family in the restaurant, but service took a long time. Unfortunately, this place isn’t for us.

We enjoyed their speciality, the queso pupusas. There are different kinds. The grilled chicken was a huge piece. The side of beans needed more beans. The server was great. The place was empty. We may go back in busy Valentines Day.

Very enjoyable meal, got 3 pupusas w/ rice and beans, wife got Bistec Mexicana. Neither plate had anything left on it. A touch slow if you’re in a hurry but it was worth it.
