The food is absolutely amazing. I will be dreaming of the Mexican corn dish side. The chicken enchiladas were perfect. The asada plate was wonderful. I only wish it wasn’t so loud. We were with a small group and we all had to yell talk to hear each other. That can really ruin an eating out experience for me. But some people don’t mind, so if you are some people it is for sure worth it for the food. Great vibes, fun Photo Booth, overall would recommend.

Ahhh such a nice restaurant in the city!! We got the tacos al carbon with chicken and mushroom. The guac and chips were also very yummy! The vibes are top tier and they even have one of the only vintage photo booths in Philly.

Goat cheese, chile flakes, pistachio, roasted tomato. Super fresh!
Chicken Burrito Suizo
Very good. Grilled adobo chicken, rice, queso fresco, red chile sauce, chihuahua cheese. Good size, couldn’t finish the last 1/4.
Macho Nachos
We opted for chicken. Very good version as every chip had toppings on them.
DESSERT:
Mexican Banana Split
Didn’t care for the plantains (didn’t read the description too well before ordering – saw BANANA and that was it!) 😉

One of my best friends has raved about this place for years. Finally got to check it out while my GF was in town for work. This absolute best thing about El Vez is the customer service. We sat at the bar and immediately felt at home. The bartender Madison (forgive me if I’m wrong as I’m bad with names) was awesome. She even encouraged me to go out of my comfort zone and try something I hadn’t before and it was delicious!
I went back the next day just for drinks during lunch. Miles was the bartender and again provided top notch service! Felt like I was talking to a long term friend. He was kind enough to give me a rundown on a few of the Asian cuisine restaurants I was looking at. He nailed it. On my way back to the hotel it took me past El Vez again so I popped in to say thanks but he had just left. On the bright side, Madison was there again and she joked that we would see them next time I’m back in Philly. Can’t wait to make it happen!

It is a really nice restaurant, nice vibe and atmosphere. We ordered the tacos combo for 2 people, the one you make your own tacos with grilled chicken and steak. For the high price, we expected more steak to come, but they put a few pieces,and a lot of onions and peppers. At the end, we had more tortillas and the dipping sauces,but not enough meat. Despite that, they were tasty. Next time, I will order chicken only. We came around 5p.m on a weekday so was easy to get a table.

My partner and I came to Philly for a couple of nights and stopped into El Vez for dinner one night. The atmosphere was fantastic, the staff was kind, and the food and drinks were great! We got the classic margarita, chips & salsa, tito santana guacamole, and tacos (birra & carnita).
SO. GOOD.
Food and drinks were also very reasonably priced. We’ll be stopping in again when we’re back in Philly!
