As bright and boisterous as a joy ride in a Tijuana taxi, El Vez exudes fun at every conceivable turn. The flashy, frenetic Latin decor, featuring high-backed velvet Hollywood booths and an eye-popping low-rider bike elevated above the dining room, creates the perfect conditions for memorable food and drink. Unexpected interpretations of Mexican classics join traditional cooking on the expansive menu, complemented by a bar that boasts one of the biggest tequila selections — and the best margaritas — in the city. Striking the ideal balance between a south-of-the-border celebration and a hot and flashy Las Vegas blowout, El Vez is the embodiment of Mex-Eclectic spirit.
Trendy Mexican joint serving upscale eats & cocktails in a colorful, flashy setting.

ATMOSPHERE:
Modern, contemporary, young & fun.
BEVERAGE:
Frozen Blood Orange Margarita
Delish! Silver tequila, triple sec , fresh blood orange purée.
Mezcale Mule
I’ve never had a tequila-based mule and it was surprisingly good!
FOOD:
Bazooka Llimon Guacamole
Goat cheese, chile flakes, pistachio, roasted tomato. Super fresh!
Chicken Burrito Suizo
Very good. Grilled adobo chicken, rice, queso fresco, red chile sauce, chihuahua cheese. Good size, couldn’t finish the last 1/4.
Macho Nachos
We opted for chicken. Very good version as every chip had toppings on them.
DESSERT:
Mexican Banana Split
Didn’t care for the plantains (didn’t read the description too well before ordering – saw BANANA and that was it!) 😉
Keoki Coffee
Kahlua, dark crème de cacao, coffee, brandy, whipped cream.
SERVICE:
Fast & friendly.
OVERALL:
Great Mexican cuisine, good for late-night fun & dessert.
I went back the next day just for drinks during lunch. Miles was the bartender and again provided top notch service! Felt like I was talking to a long term friend. He was kind enough to give me a rundown on a few of the Asian cuisine restaurants I was looking at. He nailed it. On my way back to the hotel it took me past El Vez again so I popped in to say thanks but he had just left. On the bright side, Madison was there again and she joked that we would see them next time I’m back in Philly. Can’t wait to make it happen!
SO. GOOD.
Food and drinks were also very reasonably priced. We’ll be stopping in again when we’re back in Philly!
