Cuisine was incredible and authentic in flavor. We were treated to complimentary chips and salsa upon being seated. My husband and I shared a mojito. He opted for water and I chose Diet Coke. He ordered from the vegetarian menu and I ordered tacos. Both entrees were flavorful, fresh, and plentiful portions. Prices were reasonable, wait staff attentive, and the atmosphere was relaxing.

The food is mediocre. The salsa is thin in consistency and not flavorful.
I had the Nachos Supreme. I asked to add onions since it isn’t listed as part of the ingredients. There weren’t any onions added.
The staff is unfriendly ( I don’t know if they only like people under the age of 40 or 50).
Our waitress was incompetent. We were a party of 5, very polite, saying “please” and “thank you”. I asked for water for the 5 of us, then 1 person in our party asked for water. The waitress brought 2 glasses of water. We asked for water for the rest of us. She FINALLY brought 2 more water glasses, but not a third glass out of 5. We had to ask bus people and the host for extra plates and napkins.
The staff is under qualified, under educated and poorly trained to work in a restaurant.
Good service is NO LONGER THE STANDARD.
Restaurants want to have “self-service in order not to deal with “the public”.
Unfortunately, the generations “coming up” in this world will be settling for sub-serviant service.

Perrysburg El Vaquero catered team dinner for the Perrysburg Football team and it was amazing! Everything was packaged perfect, ready on time, staff was amazing to work with and they went so far above and beyond in helping anyway they could!

The football team left with full bellies and smiles on their faces! Thank you Carlos and the whole team!

We LOVE El Vaquero, especially the Perrysburg location. Staff is always welcoming and friendly. Food is served fresh and quickly. El Vaquero is our go to Mexican restaurant in the greater Toledo area. We have dined at El Vaquero on regular basis for 10 years! Naturally we have our favorites but also venture into trying new items from time to time, regardless of what we choose we always leave full and happy! If you haven’t stopped in yet we highly recommend you check it out!

This was my first time visiting this location. I went with a few colleagues from work. We sat on the outside patio which was a nice option. Our waitress was nice and apologized for her delay in returning to our table at a point during our visit. The food was meh. From my dining experience, I give the food at this location a two star review which may be generous but they tried. The salsa that came with our chips was of a thin consistency and not very flavorful. I ordered soft tacos a la carte and to my surprise was told that these come with iceberg lettuce, tomato, cheese and sour cream. Omitting these items and adding only cilantro and onion was a $2 upcharge on the bill. Once my food arrived, they were flour tortillas not the corn tortillas you typically get. The tacos were sort of bland and adding green habenaro hot sauce helped only slightly. My suggestion would be to update this menu option to let customers know that what they’re ordering is a soft taco Americano vs a soft taco traditionally found at authentic Mexican restaurants.

This is a nice restaurant located in a strip center, so parking isn’t an issue. The restaurant was busy (Saturday evening) and we had to wait about 20 minutes to get a table. The dining facility was a little cramped around the bar area which was located on the left side of the entrance, but given the time and day that is to be expected. The interior had multiple TV’s and game machines giving the restaurant more of a bar & grill feel to it versus a traditional Mexican restaurant. The cultural decor was pretty sparse, but the restaurant itself was clean and organized.
After being seated our server took our drink order (water only) and brought them out quickly along with a serving of salsa and chips. The water was pretty neutral which is always nice, the chips were lightly salted, had good crunch, but didn’t have much corn flavor. The salsa had a medium complexion, but was weak, tasting more of tomato than anything else. Our order took about 15 -20 minutes and was plated nicely. The grilled vegetables were very good as they had good flavor, texture and were cooked at the right temperature. The beans were also pretty good. The guacamole was firm and had decent flavor and complemented the other vegetables well. The slice of tomato served with both meals were not good as they were probably of the hot house or hydroponic variety. The enchiladas were nearly flavorless and all 3 (beef, chicken and cheese) had the same texture. The green chili sauce was slightly sour and had no real chili flavor. The cheeses used for the cheese enchilada were very mild and had very little stretch or creaminess to it.
The service was very good with our server checking in just enough to not be a nuisance and show good hospitality. The portions were fair in comparison to the price so there was fair value. The food isn’t going to offend many people, but I prefer Mexican fare that is spicier and more flavorful. This is a good, safe choice for families or anyone traveling through the area that wants a meal that isn’t going to be too heavy or too light.

Had a great meal here. Chips and salsa were some of the best I have ever had! All of our meals were loved. I had the steak ranchero, and really enjoyed it. Great flavor on the steak.
