The El Triunfo Restaurant Experience ( Dine-In Edition). So, on this day, my Salvadorian friend said, let’s get some Pupusa. Now, not knowing what it was, I was like, okay. I am all about trying new food and spots I have never been to. So, upon seeing and entering the establishment, I was excited because sometimes the best food comes from small eateries. Not knowing what a Pupusa was when it was my time to order, I ordered the Fried Tilapia.
Conversely, I should have ordered the dish my friend mentioned, leading us to El Triunfo. While waiting for my food, I went to the restroom, which appeared clean during my visit. Once back at the table, my meal came out not too soon later from sitting down. I had whole fish, rice, beans, and a salad with ranch salad dressing on my plate. Side note: I’m not fond of ranch dressing, but the individual who took my order did not ask me if I wanted a different dressing. I also am not too familiar with Salvadorian food. So, all of this was a new experience for me.
While eating my food, I noticed that my fish was not well seasoned, and I felt like I needed some hot sauce to make it pop. However, they did not have any of my liking. There was some hot sauce on the table, but it tasted like a mixture of hot sauce and salsa. The rice and beans were okay but needed some more flavoring. So the moral of the story is when you have a friend from another culture who says, let’s go somewhere and get “this.” Refrain from venturing into another lane like I did. I’m unsure if I would return because I hesitate to try anything else. However, my friend says the Pupusa taste like home. Yet, I know everyone’s taste buds are different.

Usually when you go to a restaurant they will serve your food, I 5 10 min, but in this restaurant it takes 15 or up to 30min but only if you really want to taste a fresh homemade and delicious food, you will wait. I guarantee you will love it. Atmosphere not really good. But food it is the best.

Really good food! We had the pupusas, chicken and pork, and they were excellent. The salsa is great. It took a few minutes to cook, but it really wasn’t long and anything made to order has a bit of a wait. I’d definitely go back!

Small little place. I came when I first moved here in 2018. And yum. Been here a couple times after that. I just order the pupusas and tamales. I’m not a fan of Cole slaw but the slaw they make is incredible. I guess I should try something else.

I was in Winston for the day and wanted Spanish food that wasn’t Mexican. I came across this restaurant and I enjoyed it. Everything was authentic and freshly cooked. It came out extremely fast and the horchata was delicious as well. Will definitely come back!
