I ate here with my team for the first time. If you have never been, the door is all the way in the back. It’s a white door that looks like it would be a kitchen entrance. Then you walk through hallways, past the restrooms, and it opened to one dining space with a bar. Then you can go to another section if you follow that same hallway. Obviously, on a Friday night, they were steady, we got seated, and our order took an hour after we arrived. It took 2 hours to get our food. I wouldn’t say the service was horrible. However, there was no extra customer service. She didn’t smile. Welcome us or ask if we’ve been there before. We had to ask several times for our drinks to be refilled. I had 3 margaritas and wasn’t even buzzed. At one point we even asked if the margaritas were virgin. I had others at my table also try them and they agreed. Couldn’t taste any alcohol. I don’t know about you guys, usually 1 or 1.5 is enough so I can saflet drive home. With 3 I should of been on the floor. Luckily I plan and we had a DD just in case. Maybe don’t order the margaritas.

We were a very large party that showed up without a reservation and they had no problem accommodating. They had several people helping the server make sure we were taken care of. They margaritas were fantastic. I had a shrimp burrito that was grilled in diabla sauce. It was the best Mexican dish I’ve ever had.

The food was very bland. I guess good for the average white person that doesn’t like spice or flavor. The salsa tasted like straight tomato paste! And the buy one, get one free margaritas is for one person. Each person has to order a margarita. If you like very little to no alcohol, then this is for you. Very disappointed with the overall experience the service was great though.

This is my favorite restaurant. From the tacos, to taquitos, burritos, nachos, and dips. This place offers very delicious food ranging from authentic to American to accommodate everyone. They’re always running BOGO deals on drinks and around the holidays. The wait staff is very nice, polite, and kind. They remember you and jump on anything they could help you with. Highly recommend

El Toro has the best margarita in the area hands down, it’s not even a close comparison. Oh, and the food is great too. Seriously though, Wednesday and Thursday nights offer BOGO margaritas. The Fuzzy Berry is my favorite, try one for yourself and you will find out why! Complimentary chips and salsa are offered, the chips are fresh and the salsa is mild. On this trip I decided to go with something new and get the Pollo Loco, it was delicious. The chicken wasn’t overcooked, the 4 flour tortillas it come with were nice and hot, and the sides of refried beans and rice weren’t bland at all. I was very impressed and will get it again. My wife went with the jumbo chicken quesadilla and she said it was also delicious and made it a point to compliment the rice also.
My only gripe here is with the service during peak hours, which is expectedly poor. With a packed restaurant it took us about 45 minutes to get food, we were fortunate enough just to get a table to begin with though. However, with that being said, I asked for water on three separate occasions with two different servers and never got any. The margaritas kept flowing, but the water was non existent. On nights that El Toro isn’t filled to the brim this has never been an issue.
I recommend visiting El Toro for great food and the best margarita you’ll have in the area.

What a great Mexican Restaurant! The chips and salsa were great and the guacamole was ! I had the pan fried chicken tacos and they were excellent! The service was great and the Margaritas where some of the best I’ve had! Highly recommended this place!

Exceptional service! Very attentive, quick and friendly. The Seafood chimichanga had great flavor. The scallops were a little overcooked. The salsa was amazing! I love how much cilantro was in it. Got an order to go added at the end and it was cooked and ready very quickly. Can’t wait to try the other menu items.

Tons of chicken pieces and the veggies were cooked perfectly!!!
Homemade chips were hot, crisp and good and this place the cheese queso was the best so ever had!!
Portions were good, week flavored and sooooo good ! This was a hidden gem first time in the area and first time to this restaurant!
Servers were on the ball and fast! Food is well worth it and can’t wait to eat there again!!!

Was craving margaritas something fierce… Went into this establishment for our first time ever and our bartender I wish I remembered her name (I know she was roughly about 24yo) we got the perfect time for buy one get one margaritas and they did not disappoint! We all got the Fuzzy berry margarita and I also got the el chapo which was also delish! They were so amazing they even bottle and sell the same margaritas they make fresh for you there. I’d give this place 10 star rating if possible. We didn’t eat but we had probably the best fresh chips and salsa I’ve ever had. Thank you guys for the absolute best experience while we were in town. I would definitely make another trip from the upper peninsula of Michigan back down to Clinton for those margaritas alone!
