We’re located in dayton Tennessee, surrounded by mountains and the tennessee river. We opened our doors august, 10th 2005, and were amigos for a long time. In 2019 we had a chance to start our own restaurant with a new name. Now we have the opportunity to be independent and bring our own, original ideas and concepts to life. Now we are El Toro mexican grill and we would like to be here for many more years to come. We’re going to work hard to make all our clients feel at home and give them the service they deserve and be part of the community who we would like to thank for helping us get where we are.

They brought rotten meat to the table and added plenty of spices to prevent anyone from noticing it was spoiled. When I told the owner that the meat was spoiled, he rudely rebuffed me. That man is very barbaric and disrespectful. Take care of your health and don’t go to this restaurant that sells spoiled meat. And I paid that guy the damn money, I paid for food I didn’t eat.

A little disappointing. Our server was disengaged, like he’d like to be anywhere else. He did his job though.
I had the Pollo loco lunch special. The menu said “smothered in queso.” I saw no trace of queso.

Manager tried to deny entry because I had a service animal that alerts me when my heart rate gets too high!!! Sad! Finally he said whatever and slung our menus on the table. Never been so embarrassed in a restaurant!!

Menu said taco came with a crispy fried shell. Nope, store bought molded shell. Meat in the taco very bland. Chili relleno very small and filled with beans, what?? They are suppose to be filled with cheese. Tamale was over cooked. Overall, these items were not good. Enjoyed the beer.

Absolutely the best South American fare in Tennessee. The birria quesadillas are the highlight of the menu for me. And although every server and manager here are consistently warm and welcoming, make an effort to get sat with Gabriela, as she is among the most outstanding servers I’ve had the pleasure to have take care of me, and I have lived and dined all over the country.

First time there was amazing. Everything was perfect. 2nd time there (the very next day) I left feeling really irritated about my meal. The $12 chicken grande burrito they gave me had more than half an entire onion in it (not exaggerating), and barely a hint of chicken. A big big ripoff. Very hard to recommend a restaurant after being served a $12 onion burrito. I should have sent it back tbh.

I had a chance to take my wife to lunch. Service was good, wait staff friendly and no wait. We love their queso with chorizo. They offer a very affordable lunch menu that they serve Monday- Saturday 11am-3pm. I had chili Colorado and my wife lunch chimichangas.

El Toro is my go-to spot when I want a good Mexican meal and some margaritas. The Texas Fajita nachos are out of this world good. Their drinks get it done.
