Food was amazing! Honestly it’s a little pricey but I rather pay for quality food than go to these restaurants in downtown and not be content with my food, I rather pay for a good home cooked meal.
Very authentic

Some people use the words, “hidden gem”, liberally. In this case, this restaurant is so hidden that it has no social media presence, barely a menu image, and I had to drive by a few times just to ensure that they are still open. Basically, it’s two storefronts inside a building that looks like an office building off of Park Boulevard.
So why am I here?
I saw that they had a massive Nicaraguan assorted platter that included a mound of fried cheese.
But, what I received upon ordering exceeded all my expectations.
The Nicaraguan Carne Asada was my second favorite on the platter, after the cheese. This is mostly due to citrus and soy, a Nicaraguan traditional marinade.
Thirdly, I adore the citrus marinated cabbage / slaw, served with the meaty dishes to balance the richness of the meats, fried foods, and cheeses.

The place is great is a starting local business with an emphasis in Latin American food from Nicaragua, there’s a restaurant a bar and a to go section for those in a hurry. The prices are great, can’t beat a full size steak meal for $20 dollars is unheard of.
I highly recommend this place as a must eat and must experience.

This place was absolutely delicious! We had the typical Nica carne asada platter with gallo pinto, plantains and fried cheese. It did NOT disappoint. The meat was super tender, moist, and flavorful. We are so happy to have authentic Nicaraguan food in town!

Best Carne Asada I’ve had in a long time. I’m salvi and was looking for something to eat during my lunch break so worth it. The costumer service was spectacular. Wish it was more organized online and had a to go menu for the office … but definitely recommend this place.

Quality, quality, quality!! Great place. The owners were extremely welcoming and the food was amazing. Felt like home. Definitely a great place to go to, not many Nicaraguense cuisines out there, so this was a great find. Mucho éxitos!

It’s been so long since I’ve had a good plate of authentic Nica food! The portions are generous, the carne asada is tender and full of flavor. El tío even came to our table and made sure everything tasted superior. You will not regret it if you come here for a delicious meal!

Finally an authentic Nicaraguense eatery in the Pinellas County area! I would usually travel to Tampa to get some NICA food and it wasn’t even great. El Tio Nica has really exceeded my expectations! It was my first time here since the new owners took over and absolutely LOVE how authentic, fresh, and delicious the food is. The owner is incredibly sweet and even made modifications to my order at my request. Totally telling all my family and friends about this place. If I can rate this place 10 stars I would!

I had an amazing experience at El Tío Nica! I ordered the nacatamal and it was absolutely delicious – full of flavor and so authentic, just like a homemade dish. My boyfriend had the caldo de res and he couldn’t stop talking about how good it was. We also shared the tostones con queso frito, which were fresh, perfectly cooked, and so tasty.
The customer service was very family-oriented and welcoming, which made us feel comfortable the whole time. The owner was very friendly.
If you’re looking for true Nicaraguan flavors, this is definitely the spot. I’ll be coming back for sure!

Came here at around 10pm with some buddies after a late workout and all 3 ordered the carne asada double portion and it was fantastic! Even for later at night it was a lively environment and the staff were great.
