This restaurant is located next to the Swap Shop parking lot, so do not expect a/c or anything fancy, sitting is outside and very rustic. However, the food was superb. Fairly priced, fresh seafood (I was surprised this “Jalea” even had salmon, and upon request they also had fresh lobster. Big portions, cold beer, sangria, latin music. Had a great time overall. Go for lunch around 2 or 3 pm since they close by 6pm.

The most fresh and tasty food you can have. A great environment for the whole family.

Probably the best deep fried fish I’ve ever had in south Florida. Friendly staff with an accommodating attitude. I’ll definitely be returning.

My friend and I stumbled across this place while wandering around at the Swap Shop this past February visiting from Canada. It was pouring rain and we couldn’t get a car back to our hotel so we stayed for a drink. The owner was super nice and made us some strong margaritas! There was a live musician from Dominican Republic singing some Spanish hits. We made friends with some locals, waited out the rain, and drank margaritas. What a fun place!

Very expensive! Tasty? Yes! No negative comment there. Mostly fish and calamari fried chunks with about 4 large shrimp and four shells, sprinkled with some vegetable. Did not see very many people there. With the sky high prices, they don’t need very many people!

If I had the option I would give this restaurant 0 stars. The food is overpriced, unseasoned, and undercooked. A family member of mine ordered the fried fish, it came FROZEN. I ordered the steak (Carne a la Parilla) it came completely raw. I paid 35 dollars for a chance to get food poisoning. Worst part is they charge an extra 30 dollars to your bill for music and singing so loud you have to yell your order to the waitress. Terrible restaurant with overpriced food. NEVER COME HERE!!

The food is very good; I’ve always ordered the Jalea and it never disappoints. Prices are high but the staff is friendly so the restaurant is decent. Downfall – hidden 20% surcharge.
