Ambiance: With all glass windows, it’s not much to hide behind doors. This place is a very simple yet clean “mom-n-pop” chain, my favorite, with only Mexicans cooking the food and lots of Spanish spoken inside. Good sign I’d say if you’re looking for real Mexican
Service: the service is polite, simple, one guy speaks decent English, and there are mostly 4 seat tables to choose from. I came about a week ago and they were ran out of bread. I was deeply disappointed as I had to come back. I didn’t want a burrito or taco, I came for a torta.
Food: There are a wide variety of Tortas on the menu, but they also include include standard fare like tacos and burritos. If you’ve never had a torta, you’re in for a treat. It’s a Mexican sandwich with a variety of meat choices and other toppings. The bread can be a make or break part of the equation. I of course ordered a torta. There are several options, and I chose the carnitas-chorizo avocado torta. I’m not necessarily a chorizo fan, but this sounded like a good combination, an oh, boy was it. From bite one all the way though the 1/2 of sandwich, it was pure, sexy, delightful, flavorful, Mexican torta experience. I fell in love after bite number three… .
Verdict: for me it comes down to one thing, would I go back? This is actually super easy. Absolutely yes, in a heartbeat. In fact this surprise will become one of my regular stops. There are so many different kinds of tortas to try, and from other customers I queried, they said the burritos and tacos are fabulous. Here’s to good tortas in Boise! Who would have thought?!??
Also, BEST michelada I’ve had anywhere in the area.
Shout out to Felix, he is very hospitable.
Food was so delicious. I got 3 al pastor tacos and 3 carne asada tacos. Perfectly seasoned and the al pastor weren’t greasy at all! Pineapple was fresh!
My boyfriend got birria tacos and so good !!
The salsa’s were perfect! First Mexican restaurant I’ve been, to that the salsas aren’t too watery and perfectly mixed!!
The tortillas tasted good and they were huge!
The hortchata was so good and didn’t taste too watery either!!
The only bad thing I would say for $3 per taco, i do expect more meat than onion. On my taco.. I wiped a half an onion off two tacos..
I would definitely come back and try something else!
