Update #2: finally got to try the breakfast. The 3 tacos for $5 is a SUPER DEAL!! Everything was amazing as usual!
Update: went and got one of their specials, the fajita plate and it was delicious! It was honestly enough food for 2 people. The meal plus a drink for $10!!!
Been here way too many times to count and everything at El Tequila is delicious! It’s usually always packed especially during lunch and dinner but that’s because it’s literally the best Mexican spot in the area! From the food, to the drinks, to the excellent customer service. One time we got to enjoy the mariachi, it made the entire experience so much more elevated!

We are long-time, loyal patrons of El Tequila Mexican Restaurant & Bar, visiting at least twice weekly for the past few months and have always appreciated the excellent customer service. It is disappointing to report that our last two dining experiences were marred by exceptionally poor service specifically from our server, Samahara.
While we initially hoped the first incident was an isolated bad day, the service today was equally unacceptable. We noted a clear disparity: Samahara displayed a warm and attentive demeanor with surrounding tables, yet offered our table none of that attention. Key failures included no drink refills, a complete lack of check-ins, and a dismissive acknowledgment (a simple nod) when taking our order. Furthermore, even the complimentary items showed differential treatment. We observed that the portion of chips and salsa brought to our table was significantly smaller than what was given to neighboring tables.
As paying, frequent customers, we expected better. We strongly advise management to address this inconsistent service standard, especially for those seated in Samahara’s area.

El Tequila has always been incredibly consistent when it comes to both the quality of their food and the level of service they provide. I’ve never had a bad experience there, and they are always very accommodating, especially when we come in with large groups. The entire staff is welcoming and kind, but I want to especially highlight Andres. He is outstanding—always attentive, genuinely kind, and makes sure we are well taken care of every time. He truly goes above and beyond and is an amazing waiter. Overall, El Tequila is a place I will continue to visit regularly and confidently recommend to others.

Amazing breakfast experience at El Tequila! The food portions are generous and very fairly priced! The eggs were perfectly cooked and the potatoes were freshly made and arrived crispy. The barbacoa was lean and flavorful, not greasy at all! Their breakfast tacos are huge! It’s like having two tacos in one. Our server was very attentive and kept our coffee refilled. Their playlist was fire and had a mixture of everything. Definitely recommend this spot for breakfast! They have a cantina/bar and I’m sure it’s also lit for dinner.

Not my first visit nor will it be my last definitely keep coming to this restaurant.Feels like a casual upscale Mexican restaurant with a nice selection of high-end tequilas along with the best of beers. The food here is always amazing. The drinks are delicious and potent. The atmosphere has great music and decor with sports playing on the TVs.

I just ordered chicken enchilada plate to go. I don’t care for frozen or dyed corn tortillas. Tasted like mush on inside, enchilada gravy out of can with cheese added. Rest of dinner was fine. She forgot military discount. I ate here a little while back; not a fan of chips & salsa (cold chips, salsa blah), the flautas (no seasoning). Place looks nice on inside but so loud I couldn’t hear hostess when talking. Wondering if customers will eat whatever just cuz it’s nearby; don’t see the attraction. If looking for chips & salsa, go to Chili’s. If looking for flautas, go to Mariachisss Tacos. If looking for enchiladas, go to Mama Margie’s.

The Mexican food here is really good! Everything tasted fresh and flavorful, and the portions were generous. The staff was friendly and the service was quick. Definitely one of the best spots around for authentic Mexican dishes. Highly recommend!

This is crazy, me and my girlfriend went to get some food, we called ahead to make a to go order. We recieved our food and left, my orders have been wrong before, I ordered carne guisada and a chicken quesadilla, what the ticket read at pick up was carne asada and a chicken quesadilla plate, which is fine.
When we got home we opened it and were greeted with a WET chicken taco and a rubber like peice of unseasoned of steak.

El Tequila is family-friendly and excellent for a date night. Their quality of food, customer service, and atmosphere is like no other location I have ever experienced in SA. My family and I have gone to multiple Mexican (none will measure for their prices, servings, quality, and authenticity) restaurants around SA just to name a few such as Grand Tequila, La Gloria, Mamacita’s, or Los Azulejos. The bar is my go to place for my Palomas. Today, I did try this Pink Melon Vodka Drink ($1.00 from this drink will be donated to Breast Cancer Awareness). Additionally, El Tequila family chain is currently building a third location. Hence, keep an eye out for their announcement and grand opening !!
