Welcome to El Tepache Mexican Grill Tepache is a traditional Mexican drink that dates back to the pre-columbian Mexico and was a popular drink among the people of central Mexico. The base of Tepache was originally corn, but today, the Tepache drink has a more modern recipe. Tepache is a fermented beverage made from the peel and the rind of pineapples. It is sweetened with piloncillo or brown sugar and is seasoned with powdered cinnamon and served cold. It is store in barrels to make the fermentation process go faster. Tepache can still be found today in Mexico and served chilled by street vendors.

Definitely one of the finest Mexican restaraunts I’ve been too. The menu has an adequate selection of delicious foods found everywhere plus some custom dishes you won’t find outside El Tapache! Busy & popular with all age groups. Very capable wait staff, friendly & knowledgable. Generous drinks menu too. Outside covered patio seating for nice weather. Very well run & managed restaraunt. Well worth a visit with great value. The Tepache “rita” is awsome. Enjoy!

Have been coming here for almost 5 years. Great place with wondeful, friendly atmosphere and staff that keep us coming back. Definitely a staple for Gainesville. Salvador and Isa take great care of the place and Angel, Annette, and Laura (Mama) always give great service to everyone. EVERYONE there is great, do give this restaurant a try if you happen to be nearby.

Went here for lunch with a friend. The atmosphere inside was very lively with colorful decorations. Our server was also friendly and cordial with us. My friend had the Burrito De La Roqueta and I had the Chicken & Steak Fajitas lunch portion. The fajitas were very delicious with everything in the plate including the onions and bell peppers being cooked to perfection! My friend also said similar things regarding his burrito. Overall, a great first impression for the both of us. Would love to come back in the future and try their dinner options.

Once again my friends introduced me to a new restaurant. I have found my favorite Mexican restaurant. It was a Friday night. The place was packed. Apparently my friends are celebrities here. We were seated right away. All of the wait staff eventually worked their way to our table to welcome my friends. The food was awesome. We had fajita nachos, burritos, cheese dip and more. It was so crowded I wanted to finish my meal and allow others to be seated. I was not able to make pictures this time. I was told it is always this packed. No one seemed to mind the wait. They knew eventually they would be seated and be treated with exceptional and friendly service and incredible food.
They offer outdoor seating as well.
I will try to find a slower time so I don’t feel rushed and am able to enjoy more different dishes and make pictures.

We ate here again today against my better judgement. My 3rd time. I had the Texas Taco Salad this time and it was awful. When I think of salad I think of crisp lettuce and tomatoes. This thing was like a soupy mixture. The “grilled chicken and steak” were tiny little pieces of meat that I had to try real hard to locate. I did find 2 shrimp and ate a few pieces of the shell with the side of guacamole. Our waitress was great but that’s the only thing I can say. We won’t return, like never!

We have eaten here for many many years, and the owners have become like family to us. We love them very much. And that relationship was developed simply by the fact that we loved their food, their service and their atmosphere. It’s a family owned business which is owned by a Mexican-American citizen. I highly recommend.
